In this video, I walk 14 miles across the Peak District, taking in places like Hathersage, Stanage Pole and Padley Gorge. The heather was in bloom which made it a fantastic walk

Good evening Anthony, wow that heather is a sea of purple beauty! 🤗We loved it, in fact had to rewatch a couple of parts of your video, lovely! Its always a shame when work life balance doesn't allow for much outdoors time, pleased you got this trip under your belt and we cant wait to see your PW walk. The gorge is lovely and we can see why you love it, beautiful. Keep up the good work and look after yourself, Ceri and Kat ❤👍☕

Hi Ceri and Kat. I was pleased to get out with the camera and capture some of the summer colours on camera. The Peak District moorland is a special sight this time of year. The Pennine Way start date is certainly fast approaching. I just can’t want to get started now. Thanks for watching and have a fab week

Hathersage sounds familiar to me, it may have been were we stopped at a Country Inn for 3 nights on our one and only trip to the Peak District and we visited Little John's gave in the local church there - I may be totally wrong mind lol. Sounded real blustery but views were still great mind and good to stay dry, never happened once to us on our 4 days there lol. Cheers Alan

Hathersage is one of the most popular parts of the Peak District. It is close to places like Chatsworth House which probably helps. Dry and sunny days in the Peak District are definitely a bit of a rarity. I was out walking on the moors yesterday and it was cold and overcast. Very Autumnal!

@@AnthonyJohnson1 I was a bit worried about you truth be told Anthony. You seemed a bit down in your last video talking about your concerns walking the Pennine way. I admire you for even attempting it. Ive only walked various sections on different walks. There’s some really difficult walking especially kinder / bleaklow / black hill if the weather turns. I hope it goes well and you enjoy it but most importantly I hope you put your safety first.

@@kevinstark4294 appreciate the concern Kevin. I’m feeling a lot more positive about the PW now. I’ve walked another 19 miles today across the dark peak and felt really mind and good body wise. A nice route that, done bits of it but not other parts. Heather looks amazing. I am next up in the Peaks in October and can’t wait. I sympathise with your pressures of moving house. I did that myself 4 weeks ago and am still decorating, hanging pictures, pressure washing and gardening nearly all the time I am not at work! Got to the South Downs for a fantastic day walk though and have done a few local routes of just 2 to 3 hours or so, just to add some miles, enjoy the views and relax. Really looking forward to following your Pennine Way adventures soon 👍

I look forward to that. I have been watching the Pennine Challenge on youtube, from the BBC in 1984. Very nostalgic programme following 4 young people doing it with a film crew! All the tents and gear were some low tech compared to today. Just a thought regarding your concerns about the PW, have you thought about getting others to join you for a few sections for the day? Dean Read did that and John Kelly had support runners when he set the FKT this year. I think it can be an immense morale booster. Just a thought! ATB, Greg
