President Franklin D. Roosevelt makes his famous speech after the Japanese Empire attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. FDR Declares War on the then Empire of Japan. This Video was recorded at Congress the day after the Pearl Harbor attack.
"YESTERDAY, December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan." - President Franklin D. Roosevelt
Colorization colors are made using reference images which makes it more accurate than the typical algorithm's best guess but may not be 100% historically accurate, although for this one we did use color reference photos taken during the interview as well as AI Super-Resolution for 1080p

Keep in mind he’s giving this speech with all of the muscles in his legs totally atrophied, only able to stand strapped into leg braces and steadying himself with his arms and torso. Imagine how nerve wracking and hard it would be to give this speech or any speech to any crowd, and now imagine doing it without functioning legs. A man for the ages.

My late father was 17 years old when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese, and since his birthday was on February 15 of 1942, he did not hesitate to register and then enlist in the US Army the moment he turned 18 three months later! He served his country in Europe and lived to come home from the war and was awarded with the PURPLE HEART! He met my widowed mother in late 1947, and we 3 daughters were born to our Daddy and Mother as baby boomers! The cry was "Remember Pearl Harbor!", and how devastating so many in that war died!

One of the greatest speeches in American history! I loved how he used the right words and emotions in order to convey the message that the United States needed to enter in to war with Japan! We should never forget what happened to Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

"Mr. Vice President, Mr. Speaker, members of the senate of the House of Representatives: Yesterday, December 7th, 1941-a date which will live in infamy-the United State of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its emperor, looking towards the maintenance of peace in the Pacific. The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu. As Commander in Chief of the army and navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people and their righteous might will win to absolute victory."

I’m not American, but if I had just carried out an attack on America and then tuned into the news to see their response and it was this speech, I’d be really scared!!!
