People, these are NOT solar generators. Simply a battery in a fancy case. You need solar panels or electricity to charge them. On their own, they generate NIL power so please stop calling them solar generators. Batteries STORE power, they do NOT generate power..

Bluetti has glitches in it's tech. And they are always odd things that there doesn't seem to be any reason for. Sometimes I think Bluetti sends out early production models to reviewers and is actually relying on them to tell them what is wrong; that seems to be their quality control. The Pecron has tested out consistently extremely well. Jackery now is aging tech. It's still a good product but I think it is over priced for its tech. Everybody is now rushing for faster charging, because that is really becoming important to consumers. Bluetti is trying to catch up, but Jackery hasn't really changed much. But the companies that are really pushing the market are allowing for much more solar to be input for charging purposes. That is now a huge advantage, to speed up solar charging.

I've used the ALLPOWERS battery pack with a 100w panel extensively in the woods and it worked great. It's a good budget set up, as long as you don't get one of the older defective models.

Or buy a headlamp, you're going to need one one in a SHTF anyway.

@@Braveheart.22 I think tear downs of a good product is a bad strategy. I'd concentrate on superior value dollar for dollar. Tear downs make me automatically suspicious of the person talking and his ultimate end-agenda, whether it be in business, or politics.

Quality OBSOLETE Li-Ion cells, to be precise. Don't waste your money on inferior technology. ALWAYS buy LiFePo4 batteries, and you will get many YEARS more service. There are many brands that use the new technology. Jackery is not one of them. What's the point of it being well made if it dies after 500 cycles? Bluetti is also well built quality, and lasts for at least 3000 cycles, with over 5000 being more common. That's TEN times longer. For the SAME price. Don't get ripped off by Jackery. Don't be that guy.

But also for appliances and laptop. What would you recommend? I will add a couple of solar panels, but have no understanding of how it works. My hope is to charge the power bank thru my 12v outlet while driving, and solar when stationary. Any thoughts? @@valerief1231 Bluetti is the most trusted brand and has LiFePo4 batteries. Eco Flow is a newcomer with excellent reviews. Both will run not only fridges, but also medical equipment without cutoff issues. Other brands have the newer battery tech as well, but watch reviews for them...some brands and models have had issues maintaining either their AC or DC loads for extended periods. Bluetti is pricier, but has no flaws like those. When it has to work, the extra cost is worth it.

wouldn't hanging a small extension cord at the front solves your problem, and it's only a dollar.

@@grizzbane6091 it's about space usage. In lots of situations you'd want to stick this up against a wall or something. With plugs in the back the effective size is made bigger because you can't put it against a wall. There is a reason many brands moved all the plugs to one side long ago.

Unfortunately the inverter is only 300 watts, it's not a pure sine wave inverter, and it can only generate 200 watts. Plus it's a lead acid battery that shouldn't be used more than 50% and it needs to be charged at least monthly in a wall outlet. It would definitely work for some people but I don't think it would work for most vanlifers.

Except for the fact that it uses obsolete Li-Ion batteries that last only 500 cycles, compared to the at least 3000 cycles of the newer LiFePo4 batteries. It is extremely poor value. Extremely poor. The Pecron is also a terrible purchase, as it is also using old, far less durable Li-Ions. They are also far more volatile, and charge much more slowly. There are much better options from companies like Bluetti and Eco Flow. The battery is KEY. Don't waste money on inferior ones.

Irrelevant. People know jackery. They also know that they're getting their moneys worth. Unlike these Amazon buys with no name or unheard of brands. Those are always going to be a gamble

Yet these smaller companies actually have something to strive for. So in the end all you pay for is a name. All i was saying from the beginning. No need to be a hardcore ass. This sort of thing happens a lot. Once they make a name they start cutting corners to lower cost... Exactly why I research, ask around or give the little guys a chance. Besides, why is it ok to price gouge just because you think your company is #1? I have issues with that train of thought.

Jackery batteries with constant use die in 8 months, Jackery replaced it, but bitter lesson.. Ask me how i know. I have one, it did. They are lithium ion. Buy the Bluetti, I have one of those too, its a 750 watthour. Much bigger than my Jackery. Dont buy a unit unless it has LifePO4 batteries (lithium IRON) as the batteries last 5x longer, and they are much less likely to flash fry like some have done. Just my experience. EDIT: After looking at several units, it seems the Pecron might have LifePO4 batteries in some units. Cant say for sure about the one being reviewed. It states lithium, with no specific battery chemistry noted. Its a 50/50 shot.

@@rodx5571 I think what it comes down to is that these solar power stations are quite complex and have a lot of electronics and parts that can fail. I have two small Jackery's one is 3 years old and both work well like the day I bought them. The thing is I don't use them everyday. They are used for power outages, camping, outdoor tasks, on the patio when friends are over if someone needs some power. For my main battery system that I use daily, I have two 100ah LifePO4 batteries from Ecoworthy, the GoPower GP-ISW2000 inverter, Ecoworthy 30a MTTP solar charge controller and the Renogy 500A battery monitor all wired with Blue Sea Systems fuses and blocks in a heavy duty plastic storage bin so I can move the system around. The Eco Worthy LiFePO4 batteries are well rated and use a well known JBD BMS and 3000 cycle life EV cells. But that did not matter, after only about 5 charge cycles one of my batteries started cutting off charging before the battery was full indicating one cell group inside the battery has fallen out of balance and the BMS is cutting power to save them from damage. Point being LiFePO4 wont have a long life either if the electronics or usage conditions around it fail. Bluetti has electronic issues, when I was researching this last about a year ago I read there were some issues that worried me about having a bricked unit eventually. Bluetti Power Inc are also 1 star our of 5 with the Better Business Bureau. So I would not reply on that brand either unless your good with replacing your power station with your own money when it fails. Pecron maybe great but they are really a new company so would take more time for me to commit to them. At least with my larger system its modular where I can just replace a battery, the inverter, or charger if something fails.

@@practicalguy973 modular is infinitely more serviceable. I also have 8 panel array, and 3 charge controllers, 4 lead acid deep cycles. 1 year in losing capacity. So I am exploring alternatives. I do like the Bluetti though. I am aware of intermittent issues with electronics and customer service. My experience has been good so far. I do appreciate alternate view points and feedback. Thanks. @@rodx5571 Nice, I have a small 3 panel array in 12v parallel and 2 portable solar panels that I can add in if needed. I had 4 UPG AGM lead acid for about 5 years. Never took them below about 55-60% DOD. They did well but once they needed to be replaced I decided to try LiFePO4 based on all the benefits. I like that my 200ah of LiFePO4 is only about 50 lbs. 400ah of AGM is about 250 lbs for about the same usable capacity but I miss the simplicity of the AGM lead acid. I considered some of the high end lithium brands like Dakota Lithium and Battle Born but its just too much money if something goes wrong. So instead I spent half the money on batteries that have well known parts but are still an issue. My next move is to order a couple of Overkill solar BMS (which are a version of the JBD BMS) and a couple of their Bluetooth modules. I plan to take a heat gun to both my Ecoworthy batteries and crack them open and upgrade the BMS so I can see what each cell is doing on my phone. I think this is the only way I can safely know if my batteries are going to stay healthy and I can force them to balance with the app control if I notice them falling out of balance. Its just an endless money pit these battery systems. one thing I like a lot are my Go Power Pure Sign Inverters. I own 3 of them, the oldest dating back to about 13 years ago and they all still work to this day but I don't abuse them. I run them at 75% load in the worst case. Yes great having constructive dialogue.

I can manually change values for LIFepo4 batteries. At only 300 a battery I wish I would have gone with the LIFEpo4. But I am putting the lead acids in the cars I am selling and switching over.

The pecron is the same as jackery with the lithium-ion technology. The newer competitors coming out have the lithium iron phosphate chemistry which as you said has>2500 cycles, faster charging times, and is more powerful. The downside is that they are heavier. Some weigh over 75 lbs. All the new models now have the USB-C

I also picked up this E1000 for $600 this week. The voltage window is very specific between 29.4 to 40 volts. Most commercial rigid glass panels meet that spec. I was looking on eBay and several contractors are selling used panels for a fraction of the cost. I picked up a Trina 250 watt 36-volt panel for only $75. It was 2 years old from a failed business. So far works great and it really helps to keep it charging while you are using it otherwise the batteries won't last more than a few hours

I really wouldn't buy that. You're seriously risking your money. You won't be able to get in touch with customer service, it has awful reviews, and Amazon won't warranty it at all because it's not theirs. Spend money for stuff you know works and is backed by a company that will be around years.

It uses a MC4 solar connector which is a standard on most new solar panels. The device comes with a cable that uses their connector to the device on one end and a MC4 on the other.

Jackery has proprietary solar inputs as well. You have to get adapters to use generic (lower cost) solar panels with the Jackery.

There are many commercial rigid panels that meet that spec all with MC4 connectors. In fact, when I looked I ran across a solar company selling barely used Trina 250 watt panels for only $75 that are 36 volts. These were taking off a failed business close by and are only 2 years old.

Your investment would clearly not. They are Li-Ion batteries, which are completely obsolete now. They will only last 500 cycles, versus a minimum of 3000 cycles(up to 8000 cycles with an 80 percent charge cycle) of the newer LiFePo4 batteries that MOST other competitors now use. Plus, they charge significantly faster, and are far less volatile. One would have to be extremely bad at math, to put it as nicely as possible, to even consider shelling out all that money for a Jackery. Trust me, I have done extensive research. For that money, an Eco Flow River will give you far more power for many years longer. Or, a Bluetti of similar power and price to the Jackery would also give you years of extra life, plus a solid established name brand, as well. Just watch out shopping them, as they are still selling(getting rid of) some older Li-Ion models which you need to avoid. I welcome you to research it yourself- You will be shocked how much better you can get than a Jackery, of any size.
