I wonder if that joke was written before or after the kid was cast for the part. Did a call go out for tubby ginger kids to audition or did he audition and Ricky Gervais then had to improvise an insult for the kid? Either way, I like that kid's confidence. Don't think I'd be confident enough to let my appearance be insulted by an adult at that age.

Lazy Spark Joke was probably written afterward. Plus his line is filmed with just Ricky’s face, so the kid probably didn’t hear the actual line and was probably fed a fake less offensive line for his reaction.
