In this video we fix our very rutted out trail to the top of Peek's Peak with our 5 foot Titan Implements 3105 box blade on our Kubota BX23S.

The little tractor that could. Pretty darn impressive on how it pulled that 5' box blade up that hill

You should try filling all 4 wheels with water to give you a waight advantage as you did with the dirt in the bucket also airing down the tires a little improves your contact patch with the ground sometimes

I have watched this video 3 times analyzing your road. It is just a habit of mine sense I am a state certified erosion control specialist. Your road looks great. Its amazing with a little patience you can make what you have work for you. Before I bought my Kubota L3130 i use to grade roads and rip fields with my quad. I made my own rippers and box scraper for the quad and just worked at it to make it work. In high school my best friend and I use to cut roads and trails on friends ranches and properties to get the rights to hunt the property. I was just talking to him the other day and looking back at it today we both say I Can't Believe We Are Still Alive. But we had some great hunting property.

When we first moved here, I was worried about getting it into shape and being able to maintain it. I’m sure there are still some things I can improve upon, but I have been pleased at what I’ve been able to do with the BX so far. You do tend to get by with what you have. I had some friends teasing me about broadcast planting corn for a food plot last year, but I ended up with corn and wildlife coming in to eat it. 😊 That being said, I wouldn’t mind seeing what I could do with an L3130 on my road! 👍👊

as a grader operator grading millions kilometers dest way to fix this kind of roads is always going down hill not up hill and use your front bucket for moving little material for potholes but ilike your efforts to do good job respect 👏

Nice work in such a rocky environment. in the uphill ditch you can stop so much 'washing', erosion, with rock 'ditch checks'. You have plenty of rock there. When I was a kid we used to install them on steep hills when doing road work. That was over 50 years ago. Grass and weeks grew up over them and they are still solid and working to this day. The water pools up behind the dam. This causes the speed of the water to decrease and thus less washing. build the rock dam and place a flat course of rocks below the dam - to keep the water from scouring a hole immediately below the dam. Look up 'rock ditch checks',

Funny that you found this video and suggested a fix this week. I actually just finished adding “water bars” every 100’ or so down the hill. The video explaining and showing what I decided on will be out Tuesday! Thanks for taking the time to comment and explain! Great suggestion!

Looks a darn sight better than it did, that's for sure., If it were my hill/trail, I think I'd try to add some crown and a drainage ditch on either side (and maybe even some strategic "outlets" to let the water out of the ditches) along the entire length to direct the water off the center. This would probably be way easier to do with an angled rear blade, but I'm betting it can be done with a box blade, too, with just a little more work. You can probably use some of those rocks you keep pulling up to help slow down the water a bit (to keep it from eroding the ditches too bad), too. Just my $0.20 (gotta' account for inflation :D) I got the 4' box blade with my BX late last August. After regrading my driveway, my neighbor's RV pad, and the 16'x180' driveway that we share with three other houses I kind of wish I'd of gone with the 5' jobbie instead.

I think you are exactly right. I just have to figure out how to go about doing it. The fact that the water stays on the trail all the way down has it really blowing out near the bottom. I appreciate the suggestions. I’ll be thinking up a plan.

I've used my bx 2370 and 5ft box to rip up a 40 yr old limestone driveway and regraded it, and used it to put in a level pad for patios, the bx tractors are little beast!

Great video. I sold a JD 3032 but kept the 5ft box blade. Just bought a BX2380 and thought I was going to have to shell out another $800.00+ for a 4ft. You just saved me some serious coin...thanks! BTW the 2380 manual states max 5ft and 350# so you are within that I bet...or real close.

Man. One slip and "GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD"! This man must have nerves of steel grading a muddy, slippery hillside. Hey, Lucas. Watch that left turn going up the hill. Its a LuLu! Lol. Seriously, you did good on this older video. I was just scanning thru your channel and saw the boxblade again Trying to pickup a few pointers. Few neighbors are wanting me to work up their driveways. I wish, one beautiful weekend, I could hire you to weld a few extra braces on my blade for me and make a video of it. You do a fine job welding. Its a tsc 4ft subcompact blade. My brother said he could do it, but is always busy so I thought, Lucas Peek. Pretty cool guy, and really cool that hes another KY boy like myself. Be a chance to meet "The Man, The Myth, The Legend" and share a few stories and maybe bring my ole 6 string, too, and pick and grin a little. As always, love your channel. GOD Bless.

I sure hope so. You kind words have really touched my heart. The LORD has really been dealing with my heart and I need to get back in Church. I truly believe he brought me to your channel. Not for the tractors, but because you're a true man of GOD and I believe HE uses things that we like to get our attention. Tractors or anything else. They are just tools, I know. Not that important. What is important, though, is that we get fed spiritually. Thats all that matters, but, if we can have fun along the way, why not ne on a KUBOTA, huh?!? GODBless you all, Mr Peek. I may ride my motorcycle that way one day. Never ever been that far north east in KY, before. I'd like to check out your Daughters little coffee shop. Anyway, thanks for all your kind words, Sir.

I’m surprised the BX can handle the 5ft BB, it did a good job. The trail looked much better 👍🏻 and the pond also, it was almost at the overflow pipe. Have a great one Lucas 🙂🙋🏼‍♂️👍🏻

Good video Lucas. That's a precarious trail....you need an excavator to claw out a wider road....know anybody?? 😂🤣😂 396 hours....you about to spend some money on HST fluid!

Lol, wouldn’t that be “Precious” of you to bring yours up here and do that?!? Also, I had a little fiasco with an axle seal and some cheap TSC fluid that resulted in a fluid change at around 300 so I’m good. 😂

First thing I would do to that tractor report a different set of tires on it like you got on the four wheeler protraction purposes second thing I take the rocks and make me a Rockwall in a gully but you just dug out that way it would wash out all the time I made even if you had to hire a couple hands to come over and help you’re digging it out but later rock down you got all the rock you need so there you go what you do to help and good job on the trail guess you didn’t catch no fish I didn’t see no video😂😂😂 Play care can I have a good day🇺🇸

Hey Lucas. Did you build that trail or was it an access road at one time. Looks like the BX did a nice job, but I still think 5' might be just a bit too much. Take care, J

This was an old access road that was overgrown when we bought the place. Once we wore the grass off, it has started eroding regularly. As far as the blade size, I’d say it definitely depends on how your using it. I would like to try a 4 footer for comparison. Either way, I try to share what I’m seeing so folks can decide for themselves. I appreciate you watching and commenting! 👍
