Sinatra and Lee had genuine affection for each other. He conducted one of her albums and they maintained a close relationship for the remainder of his life. When Sinatra performed, as Lee's health deteriorated, he would send his private plane to pick her up and transport her to his concerts.

Peggy is an absolute genius at feeling rhythm. The band seems to gravitate to her groove and words consequently show statements and have much more weight and authenticity than Frank’s. Only she and Billie Holliday can pull off this magic trick of making us believe every word.

The correct word in the lyric is "tell," imbecile. Frank sang "tell" and Peg, whom I love, sang "show." She was very busy in those days; it happens.
@andreawilkerson20068 жыл бұрын
It's so nice to have such a civil conversation. Yes I know the tune having sung it many times myself. My point was these artists do not "goof". They are consummate pro's and they make art not "goofs." I'm surprised you were not critical of their loose interpretation of the rhythm. Oh well, have a nice day anyway.
@akrenwinkle8 жыл бұрын
Andrea Wilkerson Have a nice day? That is an expression so brilliant that I've never heard anything like it before, and likely never will again. Your IQ keeps going higher and higher in my estimation. Listen, nitwit, the meaning of "goof" doesn't depend on who's doing it. Goof is an unintended mistake. Peg sang "show me" when Frank sang "tell me," the correct lyrics, and she quickly realized her flub. A real pro and artist, she instantly made a cute joke of it, and should get credit for that, just as you should get credit for living this long running on about fourteen brain cells.
