Very nice video. I'm new to camping, infact, I recently purchased this same tent, and on it's first week up, the wind picked it up and destroyed the framing. It landed about 20 feet from where i had installed it. I intentialy left it up after our first family camp night to see if it would hold up to high winds, it did not. I since then replaced the entire frame with a heftier galvanized tubing. It doesn't look great, but im confident, it will now hold up beter. For now im still paching the tent and looking forward to reinstalling on my deck, but w with summer ending, im now looking for a stove to keep the family warm, and i think i just found it. Thanks again for your insightful camping videos.

Looks like you're burning bran cereal in that stove. I wonder if you could set up some sort of folding, reflective metal wall, floor to ceiling, behind the stove to reflect heat back in the room. Specially if the stove jack was in the corner of the tent. Since you really can't sit behind the stove might as well reflect that heat back into the parts of the tent/room where you can. We currently are looking at a smaler bell style tent for hunting and itll definitely have the pellet option as the bell twnt will be used to hunt birds in the midwest and itll be easier to just use pellets.

Great video as always! Couple questions; have you had any issues with the dire wicking back into the hopper? How often do you need to empty the ash pan? I have a pellet smoker and also have had a pellet stove for home heating years ago. The home one I had an issue twice with the fire wicking back into the hopper. The first was almost really bad but was able to get a steal bucket and empty it all before it became catastrophic. Happened to my smoker a couple times as well but that was more due to wind direction and me not facing it correctly. A pic of your modification would be awesome as well! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
@Scott Plemmons I worry about it wicking back too but I have not experienced that. Maybe the rocket stove affect some what prevents that, not sure. Ashes are the biggest problem with pellets I have found. With the mod I made I’m able to burn the hopper without “needing” to empty but it needs to be emptied after a hopper and for a better burn during the hoppers burning too. I plan on showing the mod I made but tried to make this video shorter for viewing purposes lol. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas to you too bro!

@@AdventureswithSpackmann you said you ordered another pellet stove from china. I was assuming it was one called Green stove hori 3. Guess not haha. But check that one out. I still can’t decide between that one and the shtf one.

You are 100% correct. At that point in time you take the hopper off and you have a rocket stove with a secondary burn for the gasification. Thanks for watching

@@AdventureswithSpackmann if hopper was on the back and more fitting to set up would be pretty cool. How much space does it take up
@AdventureswithSpackmann
@AdventureswithSpackmann Жыл бұрын
@Kokadjo Outdoors it doesn’t take up much room. It’s heavier than it’s big I would say. Footprint of the stove is probably 10”x20” with accessories attached. Don’t quote me on that though lol, I’m just guessing.
