Here is a look at the new pelsee p12Pro.
Its a mirror display dashcam with 4K up front and 1080p in the back with GPS.

Nobody ever talks about the hardwired motion detection like when somebody walks around the car when you're parked somewhere nobody ever talks about that and it's really the only thing that a lot of people care about

@@12voltvids I bought a wyze cam pan V3 stuck it upside down under my rearview mirror and plugged it into the always on OBD and it keeps track of everything that goes on around my car... 75$ canadian

I keep dashcam audio on, just strip it when it goes to YT, simply because it might have music on it from the radio. file size slightly larger, but then again not that much. Nice dashcam, looks like the higher end units are getting way better performance wise, and the price keeps on dropping, so I might soon want to upgrade dashcam again. I always keep a few spare SD cards in a bag, just in case I need to swap one to keep the files, or if the card does decide that write lifetime is over now. Easy to buy the 32G ones on sale these days, the larger ones i am wary of, way too much storage in the tiny volume, and in most cases it is the same 32G SLC now with a MLC controller to stuff 4 bits in each tiny cell.

I've been thinking about this one for an upgrade, but I can't give high enough praise for the rear-view design for people like me who drive utility type trucks. I'm a field tech and our assigned vehicles are standard pickup trucks with utility campers installed on them. So only side-mirrors to see with. I got one of these (I think it's a Wolfbox model) and it has been an absolute life-changer! The live-video feed of the rear-camera works fine, but it's just shy of perfectly smooth, so I'm looking for an upgrade. The video files from the card are perfectly clear and smooth though so no issues there.

You can solve the rear camera mounting issue by using a wolfbox license mount kit for your rear ‘camera. I’m using one for my Pelsee rear camera.

In the situation where the rear window is that flat since it's a hatchback, mount it on the headliner with some 3m double sided tape.

Interesting video. Thanks for your effort. Couple of questions if you don’t mind before I book an appointment. Will this unit fit over the rear view of a -14 Ram? I’ve looked at others of these strap on cameras and the stock rear view is so chunky that it wouldn’t fit. Not sure how much trust can be placed into what essentially look like rubber bands. Could you give a rough estimate as to what the total cost’s would be for the unit and install? Many thanks.

What is rear view camera coverage? Is it 170 degree or 140? Wolfbox 840s provides horrible coverage and I cannot see an approaching vehicle when reversing until approaching vehicle is almost on me 😢 My car's builtin camera still works but image quality is bad after years, but it covers a big area.

Greetings from beautiful British Columbia! I had a question about uploading files and viewing them on a windows computer. I had a Wolfbox G850 mirror dashcam. I got into a MVA and tried submitting the clip to ICBC but the file was the wrong format and I failed to get the actual video sent. I ended up recording the clip with my iPhone while playing it back on my computer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Some cameras record in h.265. you need to convert to h.264. I use wonderfox video converter but there are many including bbmpeg that will do it.

21:10 You could use Davinci Resolve; there's a free version which would do 99% of what you'd need it for, or a one-off paid for version which gives all the bells and whistles. Many people have ditched Premier (and Photoshop/Lightroom) because of Adobe's greed.

The problem is learning it all over again. I know how to do what I need to do with premiere. Some day if I want to move to 4k p60 I may have to make the move but for the cameras I use they are limited to 4k p30 and premiere handles it just fine. You are right about the corporate greed, but adobe didn't start it, that could be crApple that started that.

Yes, you can set it for low medium or high. On high it responds to every pot hole on the road.

Anyone notice everytime you restart the car, the mirror does not save the same brightness and position settings?

How well does it work as a mirror with video off? Or would you just leave the screen on while driving?

It works as a mirror with the screen off but is a little darker than a regular mirror. Looks like when you flip the mirror to night mode. I usually leave it on all the time as i have the camera mounted outside the car so it shows the blind spots nicely.

Maybe I’m having trouble adjusting mine, but I noticed that you can’t use it as an actual mirror without sacrificing the angle of the front dash cam. So I have to literally only use the rear dash cam as my “mirror” otherwise the front dash cam angle is affected

Front angle is fine. Shows what goes on in front of the car.

@@12voltvids yeah idk how yours is. For mine, I can’t use the mirror as a mirror without sacrifice the angle of the front dash cam. It’s too far right and up. I scroll the touch screen and it’s still so far. Maybe it’s just me

@@OdayLpha what you see on the screen is only a portion of what it records. If you hit the change view button to show both on screen that will show you what is actually recorded.

@@12voltvids I would like to retract my comment, as I feel dumb lol. I didn’t realize until now that the front camera is like a little ball and could be rotated. Up until now I was trying to rotate the whole mirror.
