I have exactly the same unit (Model GP14) branded as Remsleep (an Australian branding). There are multiple branding of this and the source seems to be Shenzhen Merpower Electronic Co Ltd. I am really impressed by the performance. Bought it my wife's CPAP when travelling and are stuck camping in the car overnight or in a motel that you cannot easily access a convenient power point. My unit came with a USB-C to DC to DC converter to convert the DC out to 24V for a Resmed AirMini which means you don't need to use the car-lighter outlet. It gives enough power for 2 or 3 nights without recharging. Although I also have a 12V car outlet to Resmed AirMini converter supplied with the CPAP machine, this is very suseptable to under voltage cut out and would not work on another powerbank I have. The Resmed car converter simply won't work under load from many of these unregulated car outlets on these types of units. Thoroughly recommend the unit.

I have the Renogy one. probably from the same factory, just different color scheme. Excellent product.

Right and not everyone needs ac outlets. The AC units are great but many times you don't need ac power.

I Have A Crave Charger & I Havent Charged It For A Few Years & It Still Has Juice In It Cause One Day I Checked It & It Had All 4 Lights Lit. I Got That Cause When I'd Go To Tho The Library I Could Never Find An Outlet. So That's Why I Got It.

Was there a follow up for this video? Keen to know how the cells are connected. Is there a buck convert to reduce the pack voltage for each of the selected output voltages? Also, if this can recharge from 12V, is there a boost converter to feed the cells (if series connected for a higher pack voltage)? Twenty 18650s in 1S would have a pack voltage of 72 to 84V. Twenty 18650s in 5P4S would yield 12.4 to 16.8V Other series parallel combos might be a better choice of bulk voltage.

Is there a water rating, need something I can take into the backwoods?

I wonder if it lives up to its claimed capacity. Only one way to find out I suppose.

Please confirm the cell count, is it really twenty? A good quality 18650 cell is 3.6V (when depleted) and 3Ah capacity. That yields (3.6 x 3) = 10.8Wh For twenty cells we get a bulk of (20 x 10.8) = 216Wh The available output will be less due to voltage conversion. The published spec is 266.4Wh Something is off! Fully charged the same cells will be 4.2V each, yielding just 252Wh bulk. Anyone know if there are only twenty cells here? Further investigation please!

I probably wouldn't recommend using anything lower than a laptop charger on this device, as using a normal charger or even normal laptop charger will take forever and overheat your charger, as most chargers aren't supposed to be used for hours or days on end. I had a smaller power bank that used a microUSB and it took forever and made any charger I plugged it into get so hot that it's worrying. thankfully the DC jack is bi-directional so I used an old laptop charger.

The box says "Lithium Polymer battery pack". I wonder if modern LiPo batteries work better in long term than some older ones? I had almost ten yesrs old mini videocameras with LiPo batteries, and at least two of them failed. One made visible bump to the back cover of the camera and in the keyring cam, battery expanded so much it cracked the case open, even it was held together with two screws. I have one power bank (100000 mAh), and I think it probably has LiPo battery pack inside as well.

Misprint on the package, definitely not lithium polymer.

@@12voltvids I bought two of these back in September 2022 to use for camping. Naturally, the first step after unboxing them was the teardown (yes, for some reason I opened up both). One has a battery made up of 18650 cells just like yours. The other definitely does not have any 18650 cells. Just 3 massive metal-cased LiPo cells. I guess there are multiple versions. Perhaps they switched battery manufacturers and some of the older ones are still in the supply chain? I ran a capacity test on each and they both came in at around 245 Wh. Factoring in the efficiency of the internal buck converter the 266 Wh rating is actually legitimate for once.
@benperkins2929 Жыл бұрын
Looks more like there's 24 cells. Seems there's two rows of horizontal cells at the bottom judging by the size of your 18650

I guarentee that DC laptop charger is a standard 5.5mmx2.5mm barrel jack. that should fit most laptops, like toshiba, and most offbrand laptops, and even some things like guitar pedals or air inflators. very common connector. you can buy a huge pack of compatible adapter bits for $13 usd on amazon but probably cheaper elsewhere.

@@12voltvids my 840 G1 has been karate kicked off a table and other than the corners being cracked, nothing changed. I don't think that thin abomination would survive the same fate, even new. and the laptop was really easy to service too.
