Its also a lot to do with the shitty copyright system in general. KZfaq actually uses a semi functional copyright take down system, which says a lot about the laws themselves. I'm not claiming to know the laws inside and out BUT I do know they're a bullshit spaghetti of nonsense and they're hard enough to navigate outside of youtube.

Well then that limits the claimant's ability to seek justice for potential copyright abuse, which is strictly protected under the digital millennium act that governs the platform. KZfaq would get sued to death by every copyright holder on the planet if they stopped prioritising copyright holders over creators. Also for it to be "proven" it has to go to court cus KZfaq cannot legally determine what is and is not fair use, only the courts can do that, so once a claim has been made the only way to reverse its effects are either for the claimant to retract the claim or for the courts to say it's fair use (KZfaq can only really do anything if it's not a question of fair use and there is just blatant misuse of the system) It's similar to the issue that creators can only refute 3 claims at a time while copyright holders can make as many claims as they want

that is how it works. i have been on youtube for years and that's how it has always worked. but heres the thing: youtube never really accepts that copyright strikes are false. they always just accept them as if they are valid even if they are obviously not.

I mean, think about how many years youtube has been a platform, how many millions/billions of youtube videos uploaded and processed every day. This isn’t a solution. The reason it works the way it does now is because KZfaq bears the responsibility for insuring copyrighted content isn’t on their platform. Therefore no matter what the source is they have to have the strikes work the way they do to protect themselves. What you are suggesting is basically asking KZfaq to hire thousands of people to manage these claims. The reason it exists in the form it does now is because KZfaq can’t afford to have an expense that high for copyright issues.

I don't see how this can ever work if you are a big entity, for example, a sports brand there will be people wholesale republishing your stuff everywhere.
