*Smooth operation and love the over sized handle! **enjoyable.fishing** recommend Casts nicely. Fished a recent tournament and used it... had no trouble landing a 6 lb Bass.*

I have the 50 lw, with a heavy boat rod (with rollers). Used it today on a boat and it worked perfect. Caught 4 sharks and 1 large stingray. It was even powerful enough to pull up a 70 ish lb object in the water and the shark that wrapped around it. I’m using 100lb spider wire stealth braid with a home made 130 lb leader.

There aren't any mag brakes on any Squall reels except the 12 and 15 models. I have the Squall 15 with the mags and it is a killer surf casting reel with 50 lb braid.

The 30lw is equivalent to all 20 or 30 size inshore reels MAX DRAGE 15-20 not designed for 80lb line the rod is over kill upto 60lb mono but the reel will break if you exceed the max drag of 15lb

it can be but I would suggest the penn fathom if you want to do mostly free lining.

I wanna buy the squall 30 level wind combo what's mean the 30? Lbs and the rod how many lbs it's is?

The 30 is just the size I don’t know exactly what it means but I believe the rod can handle up to 8 ounces

@@JZFishing got a Bonito on her, but a bluefin would be a hell of a fight. Yellow fin would he perfect rod. I get mostly striper on that reel.

@@JZFishing no problem at all. One of my favorite reels that I have is the penn fathom 2 20lw. I think I paid around $200 or so. And the Seigler SM. witch is 400 dollars but it’s Definitely worth The money. But The Sigler SM does not have a level wind but it is one of the best reels that I have. And my other favorite is my pen fathom 2 20LW . I shark fish with it and pier fish with. I put it on a 12 foot rod when surf fishing and a 7 ft rod when pier fishing. I also have the penn fathom 2 15 level wind which is absolutely awesome also. The pin fathom 2 20 level wind is truly is one of the best I’ve ever had. You can absolutely do everything with it. And don’t worry about what everybody says that LW reels cannot cast you can cast that thing a mile just tighten your centering knob on the right hand side of the reel and it will definitely slow the real down even though it’s the spool centering knob because other than that it don’t have any brakes on it so just tighten the spool center knob and you will be perfect. that’s exactly what I have to do also because if I did not tighten it up it would backlash constantly. Anyway I hope this helps some

Shoreline Fishing Mafia I think this would be a great rig for any shark 100 pounds and below. Anything over that weight I would suggest a bigger rig.
