Trapping Furbearers. Follow Hunter Ruby as he checks his trap lines in Armstrong county Pennsylvania. Hunter has most of his traps set for raccoon and muskrat but catches a couple mink and opossum also. With plenty of raccoon around and also setting off his fox sets, Hunter has had a great season so far this season. Hunter explains a few tips while checking his line. Most of the traps used are Duke dog proof traps and 150 conibear. Hunter also has a few footholds out also. More videos to come this year, the season isn't over yet!

Cheers for the Video clip! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Proutklarton Surviving Technics Plan (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for learning how to survive any crisis without the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my good mate called Gray finally got great success with it.

Any chance next trapping season you guys can go over some of the basics in a video. Things like baits and where the best spots to set the traps. Maybe some stuff you might do to camouflage. Maybe just everything from A-B haha, i'm trying to get into it and just trying to get some more details. I know it's a lot of work and preparation but hard to find videos that go into full detail. or if you know any that go into full detail would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What do you use for bait in your DP's??? I have used marshmallows but I end up having problems with the mice eating them all and seems like during the colder months they aren't interested in marshmallows more fish products..... otherwise great video I love your channel

I see that you shoot what you catch. I was always taught to just get a good solid hit on the back of the neck, and I was wondering if there is a reason you prefer to shoot your catch rather than just break the neck.

I did that last year givin em a good hit and it will kill them most of the time, and it also makes it harder to skin atleast for me it was. I bought me a box of 22. For this year and are those puppies expensive

we didnt catch as many at first, it took awhile to acquire most of the things we needed for trapping plus we learned something each year and we are still learning.

i mounted the pvc on my pack to hold T bars. not really necessary but i am able to carry more and everything isn't jumbled together. i can also put a hatchet or trapping shovel in these pieces of pvc

As far as I know raccoon is pretty good but needs work to cook. There is a lot of fat on a raccoon so you need to remove most of it. Boil the meat and peel off the fat.

Nothing wrong with hunting and trapping BUT why set traps if you go check them and have to leave the live animal in the trap all day while you go to work. That is just plain letting an animal suffer while your off to work
