0:00 - Size overview
1:18 - 22″ Penny Board
2:18 - 27″ Nickel Board
3:16 - 29″ High-Line SurfSkate
4:42 - 32″ Skateboard
5:27 - 36″ Longboard
Each one serves a different purpose.
22″ Penny Board
The 22″ is their most popular size and what most people automatically envision when considering a Penny Board. I’d recommend this one for younger kids since it’s so tiny. The portability is great, but there’s not enough deck to feel stable.
27″ Nickel Board
This is the same shape as the traditional 22″ Penny, however, it’s 5″ longer. It’s a better option for most people because that extra 5″ allows you to balance more easily. This is commonly called the Nickel board since it’s the step up from the Penny.
29″ Surf Skate
The next biggest board they offer is their 29″ Surf Skate, which you could probably already guess mimics the feeling of surfing. They partnered with Waterborne Skateboards and put their patented Surf Skate adapter on the front of the board. This lets you do deep carving, making it feel like surfing.
32″ Skateboard
Their 32″ board is the closest option to a traditional skateboard. It has a defined nose and tail, allowing you to do some tricks.
36″ Longboard
And the final model Penny Skateboards offers is their 36″ longboard. This is the best option if you want to get the most speed and maintain your stability. It’s an entirely different shape than their traditional 22″ & 27″, but it still serves a purpose. This board is the easiest to ride out of all their boards.

I feel like people should upgrade to the nickel or any cruiser that is bigger then the penny since after size 9 shoes its not gonna be as comfy to ride on im size 9 entering 9.5 and I wore a 9.5 shoe before (from my older brother) and it was not good I had to think where I land my feet so I dont become unbalanced but if your size 9 below ye go as hard as you want on it

I'm a size 12 and i ride a 22" penny for 3 years by now, the best thing for me it's the portability and lightness over other wood cruisers. I don't really think that they are uncomfortable and i kinda like how they're somewhat dangerous at high speeds hahahaha it makes me feel alive. Anyway, great video man!

Ahh. Eu tbm ando a cerca de 3 anos. Eu amo.

@@morgan3506 I am between size 10.5 and 11 mens. The board is pretty small, but that is the fun. Your heels and toes will kind of hang over the sides of the board, but that allows you to kind of grab the board with your feet. The small board also lets you feel like you are going fast when you really are not going that fast.

I've been finding longboarding to be more difficult than a cruiser with me being a beginner still. It was mainly because the flex in the longboard made me feel not as confident because it's more unstable. The cruiser I was able to get in no time. I'm 6'4" with a size 14 shoe so I think the width in the cruiser help that part of my stability and balance.

A bit of silly reason but the 22 inch is the most recommended in my opinion. Solely cause if you just wanna start out, then most likely you'll find only the 22 inch board. Our second hand had 22 inch, regular skateboard and a longboard. At a sixth of the cost of a brand new one.

I love love love love my wooden boards......but I'm eyeing the Penny Nickel to mod into a Mini/micro Surfskate setup. Its semantics, but personally I consider 25" -28" decks mini's and 24" and under Micro's. I've been having a blast building 22"-24" setups with a Meraki and am Intruigued to try a plastic board and see how it feels. I'm thinking 3" Penny truck hangers on a Nickel board with a Meraki ( or even the Waterborne) would be a riot to ride.

Hey! Really great video. I loved all the details and descriptions you gave for each board. I’m a college student. I have the 22” Penny board but like you said, it feels too small sometimes and I don’t feel super comfortable riding over cracks like on the sidewalk and stuff. It also seems like I have to keep on pushing a lot just to get some momentum. So it feels like I’m pushing more than actually riding if that makes sense. I am looking for something that I can use around campus but something that’s relatively easy to carry around like while walking or bringing it with me on the bus. What would you recommend? The 27”, 32”, or 36”? I’m also not super interested in tricks. I mean, I wouldn’t mind learning like one or two but that’s not my main concern. What would you recommend? I’d mostly be using it for transportation. Thank you so much!

Hey man love your videos!! I want to buy a board but I don’t know what. I’m mostly trying get something to ride for average distance (I don’t want a bike because it’s really big) and maybe to do eventually some tricks. I just don’t like the plastic wheels on a regular board I rather have something silent and smooth. What do you suggest !! Thanks man :)

Man I used to skate in my tenes, and I would like to get a skate to go to work for the parts where I dont use the bus or train, and Im in a dilema, I want to have a soft ride, not having problems with cracks or little rocks on the sidewalk and maybe being able to ollie when needed, so should I get the 27inch Nickel board (just for easy carving) or a normal skateboard but with penny/longboard wheels? And how is the grip on the penny boards without a grip tape?

I did byed 22inch, fell 2 times in short period, feel that bord too small to me 40-41size of feet. So I give it to woman that have 2 boys 8,11 and they enjoy it, I gave them too secure stuff. So i purchase yesterday NKX 27inch cruiser(hope this one is better for size of my feet and comfortable to use), price is very close to penny cruisers, but there was big discount on one of colors, happily I liked that combinations of colors gray board with red transparent wheels (it costs me 39,95€+15€, but normally price was over 100 euro). But I did buy it as bord for traveling, because I have also Apollo longboard Weird 100cm long. Because 22inch, is not so stable for beginner. So as first board longboard is moost secure to buy, as grand board. If someone use NKX plastic cruisers or Apollo longboards, give me your toughts about your experience of it. Thanks for feedback

I wear size 8 sometimes 7.5 and I am just looking for a larger one because I want it to last longer. Smaller penny board worked when I was younger cause I was like size 5 but now years later it’s just not cutting it out for me anymore.

Can you do a detailed nickel vs dingy? I’m trying to decide between the too. I like the colors and look of the nickel but the dinghy has better overall performance...
