As I say in the video it’s a little vague and like good art it makes you question things. Maybe my interpretation is too dark but it doest have to be taken that way. I’ll be interested what you think it means after you give it a good listen and read of the lyrics.

I’m guessing you came because of the title and not the fact he was doing Mitch Grassi’s solo project. He’s part of the group Pentatonix but as a solo artist has an alter ego known as messer. It’s meant to be a little odd but most of us love him as Mitch so when he goes as messer we still support him. He’s still a great singer songwriter but certainly doesn’t use messer to show off his voice like he does in Pentatonix.

@@pekieboo I saw Avi in concert (in Atlanta) right before the “you know what” we don’t mention the name here. It was basically the send off on the heels of quarantine. It was a very very small venue. There might have been 200 people if that (I am not good at telling how many people are in a room). Standing only. Intimate. I won’t forget it! It was great.

I had some Elmers Glue Sticks that were scented and my reasoning was that Elmer’s would not make a glue stick scented if it was bad for you? Well and it said non toxic. So I sent a pic to AB mom of AB sniffing a glue stick and said, just here sniffing glue sticks and having fun. She said, oh my gosh! I said, hey simmer down, it says not toxic?!?! So we glued a little bit and sniffed glue a whole lot? 🤔 Then “Uncle Scarf” changed from “Uncle Scar” and we still don’t understand either reference arrived with Sonic cheese tater tots and an ocean water with cherries for AB. The glue sticks were forgotten. Then he and AB made a porcupine with a paper plate, some ribbons, some clothes pins. I tell you, being a Park Ranger apparently has you growing some skills just sayin? 🤔 AB was so proud of that porcupine? Maybe just listen and not watch the videos then. He’s still the same amazing singer as he is as Mitch from Pentatonix. All the messer songs are more pop sounding than I expected when he showed us his alter ego. I get that messers not for everybody but I love Mitch so I support him in this project too.

Maybe he needed an outlet for the slightly pervy side (seriously: listen to Leather and Ready2Die) and needed to create an alter ego for that, because Mitch is all family friendly and non-threatening. I support both.

Cant say I enjoy Messer much personally (although I like listening to some of the songs) but I 100% support and enjoy the fact that he gets to have this outlet for many other facets of him. He has always hinted at being more kinky during superfruit and such, and has always enjoyed more alternative and experimental art, music and fashion. So this is very clearly a part of him that he needs to share and explore to balance out the more produced and family friendly ptx. So Im so happy for him getting to do this. And so fun seeing his Messer fans getting excited and supporting him as well.

@@hernameispekka_Rebecca I agree and feel that he needs this side of himself even more now that superfruit is done. I feel that if he didn't have an outlet to let the side of himself out he would have left ptx long ago. I know he loves the group and doing the music with them but for his personality I don't think it would be enough to keep him happy. He's even made comments about that before. I applaud him for doing what he needs for himself that allows him still to flourish with ptx too. He's very aware and smart with his mental health and how things affect him.

I love this song too! The Messer visuals really work for me! Especially Roses, Bitp, and Angels Pray. But everyone has different tastes, for sure. The world would be boring if we didn't. 🥰

Mitch has both light and shadow in him. I think the light is still in there, but he needs to let the other sides show as well.
