Yes, it is crazy that so many people from all over the country are moving to Spartanburg!! Most seem to be moving here because their employers are relocating their businesses here, they enjoy the low taxes, and low cost of living. It's a shame that much of your tour was through an apartment complex that is in the process of being demolished and that you missed the 3,500 homes and apartments under construction. But we are glad that you did not take time to plan your trip and especially delighted that you left so soon. Spartanburg is just fine without your caustic and immature humor. spartanburg is an amzing city with amazing people. the fact that you went thru the "hood" area and took your time to say that that is how all spartanburg is is dissapointing. you clearly drove right into that apartment complex thats is currenly being demolished and relocated and talked like it was how all spartanburg looked like? people are moving to spartanburg because it is a beautiul city with amazing experiences.

Spartanburg was a quiet little town back in 2009. Nice people. A random guy helped me change my starter on my old truck, in a Walmart parking lot.

Spartanburg County reaches more than half way over from Spartanburg to Greenville, directly towards the Greenville-Spartanburg airport and BMW plant. It looks like to me that the big growth coming into Spartanburg is actually into Spartanburg county, an area that is directly in the path of growth of metro Greenville, which is growing to the east directly towards Spartanburg.

Spartanburg’s nickname, Sparkle City, is derived from a 1950’s rock group from the area who achieved national fame called the Sparkletones. The city’s other nickname is the Hub City. The apartments shown in the first part of the video are boarded up and not maintained because the residents are being relocated to a new complex several blocks away. When the relocation is completed, these apartments will be demolished. The city is in the process of developing a leadership academy for the neighborhood around it which will develop a transformation plan for the area. This is the last of Spartanburg older apartment “hoods” to be demolished or remodeled. The Daniel Morgan statue in the square is Revolutionary War. Spartanburg is home to 7 colleges as well as the SC School for the Deaf and Blind. If you had gone west from the Beacon for about a mile you would have come to a beautiful woodland area called Hatcher Garden.

Not going to lie y’all were annoying. Not to mention you didn’t even go through the beautiful areas and homes. You intentionally went to a hood near the beacan. In journalism it’s best to practice best practice and give a unbiased honest review.

Maybe people are moving to Greenville and Spartanburg because good paying jobs are available.

Alabama loves chicken stew also! I had never heard of it before until I moved up here. And I have only tried it once and could taste the canned chicken in it! It was so gross! Now if someone made it with fresh chicken, it might be good. But I haven't wanted to try it! 🤣

Spartanburg is one of the few places in the Carolina's I haven't been and I have seen some BAD places but this takes the cake. I'm so disgusted and in shock at those apartment buildings. That's straight up third world. Whoever the city counsel is in that city should be ashamed of themselves.
