As it's been stated, it's finnish folk metal so not viking. However fun fact: vikings hardly ever went to Finland, because the old finns were -really- hostile towards outsides and slaughtered anyone attempting to man their shores. What would end up happening is the finns killed everyone else and sent just a guy or two back alive in order for them to tell back home what happened. This actually made vikings afraid of the finns.

А так вообще записей с того времени мало, но факт что все пиздились со всеми и много кто любил и любит записываться в разбойников разных сортов, то я не вижу ничего странного в утверждении что скорее всего были и финские варяги

Korpiklaani is a Finnish band. Historically the Finns had little to no ties to the Vikings, who were primarily Swedes or Danes (and maybe Rus), and are culturally very different from the Norse in general. Additionally, none of their songs are about anything Viking related. They are definitely not a viking metal band. They do still kick ass though.

The scholarly consensus holds that they were originally Norsemen mainly originating from present-day Sweden, who settled and ruled along the river-routes between the Baltic and the Black seas from around the 8th to 11th centuries AD. In the 9th century, they formed the state of Kievan Rus', where the ruling Norsemen along with local Finnic tribes gradually assimilated into the East Slavic population. It is likely that the name "Rus'" is related to the modern Finnish word for the country of Sweden, which is "Ruotsi", which is derived from either the place of "Roslagen" in Sweden since the vikings that formed the Rus' are thought to have come mainly from there, or from the Old East Norse word for rowing.

No, Vikings were Scandinavians (Faroese, Danes, Swedes, Norwegians and Icelanders), and Finns, although they also are Nordics, are Finno-Ungrians, who were at the tome totally separate culturally from the North Germanic Indo-europeans that the Scandinavians are. @@idiotidiot9609

Korpiklaani is on Wikipedia's list of viking metal bands, they use predominantly viking imagery in their album arts, and their lyrics invoke Scandinavian viking shenanigans. they are from Finland though, so you get a cookie.
