After learning of BJ's recent death it really makes you realizing that addiction issues can literally annihilate entire families. The Carter Family story is so tragic. It is also no coincidence that her and Nick were the only two siblings who sought counseling and help. Now, they are the last two of five siblings remaining alive. It's just so heartbreaking! 💔

Everything she said is true. It must have been very hard for her to be so open about this. No one ever wants to think their parents did something bad. But she’s right. Their parents failed all those kids and they didn’t have the tools. Hoping Angel and the rest of her living siblings can break the cycle for their kids

Angel should start a podcast. She understands so many things on such a deep and inherent level. I'm so glad I happened to see this. I'm just over a year in recovery.. struggling badly.. and knowing that I need to initiate therapy. I feel like this was the sign I needed. My deepest respects to Angel. This would make Aaron so happy 🙏

I’m an EMDR trauma therapist and I haven’t ever commented like this before but I just wanted to encourage you to reach out to find a therapist. Recovery cannot be dependent on willpower because EVERYONE will run out of willpower at some point. Recovery requires healing from the pain you were mitigating with substances. Through true healing, you will find freedom. Freedom cannot be taken from you and is not reliant on your strength and willpower so freedom is the way to a forever recovery. I’m biased and think that EMDR coupled with somatic based trauma therapy is the way to heal and find freedom but any support from a licensed therapist to help you start to heal is a BEAUTIFUL way to honor yourself and your recovery. I know it takes courage to find a therapist and sometimes it takes a while to find a therapist who is a good fit for you but you’ve already done something much harder that takes WAY more courage when you began your recovery so you can absolutely do this too. 💛💛💛 *edited for autocorrect issues😂

Despite Aaron's addiction, I will always remember his passion for his music. Most videos of Aaron, I saw were him on his keyboard or in a studio. At least he felt safe in the musical world. That's something. Such a sad and tragic end to such a young soul. I'm 54 yo, I lost my younger brother a few years ago and my dad. All I have left is my elderly mom. Once she's gone, I will be left alone. My family will be gone but as long as I live, their legacies will live on and I will keep their memories alive until I myself am gone. Angel, stay strong. Some people truly think he should have hated him and the truth is he never did. If anything Nick has alot of hurt because he now knows Aaron apologized for everything. No family is perfect, but it is so hard to come out of it when you're an adult. It is a battle every single day and as a society we have the responsibility to look out for one another. This takes real courage to speak up about what happened but it needs to be told by the right person. Its nice to know Nick was able to afford counseling for his siblings and she took the opportunity to get proper help and allow herself to break a generational curse and that is good on her. It does break my heart that Nick and his sister chose to not get help like they should have but it is what it is sometimes.

Definitely see Aaron more than what happened to him🙏🏻♥️ he had a beautiful heart. He would be extremely proud of his sister. I hope she finds peace in all of this knowing she is living her life’s purpose and also making a difference for kids just like her and her siblings.

There is an unspeakable unbroken bond that exists with siblings that have been through as much trauma the Carter siblings have been through. I think to the core they love each other. Some just didn't know how to love back. Angel, you are a true heart. Same with Nick

She is so right! This is so sad to hear, made me cry! I too, lost my younger brother and my mom to drugs. It’s not easy and I blamed myself for a while, I blamed myself for leaving them. I had to walk away and I’ve finally come to peace

Angel, I have long been a fan of BSB and your brother Nick but you are my favorite of all the Carter siblings. Thank you for speaking the truth and your efforts to address drug addiction. I admire your strength and the will to break the vicious cycle.

I’m a huge fan of Aaron way back 90s in the Philippines until i had a chance to meet him in person wayback 2018 in Berlin. He was such a humble and talkative person. I just met him once but it seems he was may longtime buddy. Thats why i’m so sad when he passed away. Hope he find peace up there. Miss you brother 🫡👌🏼

❤ Your a beautiful woman Angel I can relate to you in that I grew up in a very volatile home alcoholism verbal abuse fear and no kid should feel unsafe ..my niece passed from drugs my nephew since age 15 been in and out of jail and rehabs due to dysfunctional family issues mental health is ignored they throw rx at anxiety and depression yet no one is willing to look under the hood childhood traumas etc … At 60 yrs young I’m still trying to pull my life together for myself and my kids who are grown and to break the generational curses that have been passed down … drinking and doing drugs was my families go to escape the pain I didn’t want that but instead kept looking for a way to heal anyway god bless you your a wonderful sister and be proud of yourself Angel you really are an Angel and are a blessing xo

I’m a strong supporter for children’s mental health awarness. My 12 year old son was diagnosed at an early age with Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (similar to bipolar disorder), depression and anxiety, hearing your child tell you that they don’t want to live anymore is the hardest thing ever. As a result of everything I’ve been through with him I developed severe anxiety and depression.

On reflection since Aaron’s passing I became aware that Aaron was carrying on as per usual putting on a great tour (Jukebox Tour 2003) Right in the midst of his parents divorce. I feel so bad for that cheery and kind 15 year old Aaron who I met at the time. He was not given any time to sit with his emotions of the divorce since being so busy on tour and probably wasn’t even offered therapy by his parents either. I believe this would of been a crucial point in helping his mental health. Especially when he became introduced to drugs at that exact age.

That was the last tour I saw from Aaron. I just turned 15 and about to start high school. When aaron said he grew up touring, I totally believe that. That kid was the one who I saw the most in concert growing up. Tour after tour after tour after tour! Almost all year long! I can understand where he got his trauma from. It's a scary world out there in Hollywood.

Hi! I just have to say that I am recovering from my childhood now, at 51. But I’m very young at heart and my children are 15. ☺But I have started meditating and listening to Eckhart Tolle and others like him. And you have to be consistent, meditate two times a day, and listen to The Power Of Now and other books like that, every day! It will help you find a way to see your life in a different way! It gives me peace and I am more present in the moment and I can be happy, content just with being! I wish the best for everyone reading this! ❤🙏❤
