The plaintiffs say the defendant’s dog got out and grabbed their dog when they were out on a walk, so they’re suing the defendant for damages and vet bills. The defendant denies her dog got out that day and insists a previous judge ruled against the plaintiffs in a criminal case.

If the defendant's dog is anything like ours, especially our 16 year old rescue Molly, she has a favorite place in the house to lie. So the dog could have gotten out, someone shut the door behind it, and it was in its favorite spot when the witness arrived home. That poor pooch went through h*ll! We've had to do wound care on animals through the years, no its not a picnic. Having said that, they were suing for "Fun Time"? I think at a glance those two dogs could easily be mistaken for each other if it's not somebody who owns the dogs and sees the dogs on an everyday basis, especially if you're dealing with an attack and your mind is going a mile a minute trying to stop the dog attack and then the dog takes off, and if they have pictures of another dog that looks very similar running around the same property then it's very possible that it could be a case of mistaken identity, am I saying that that 1000% was not her dog Gucci... no, but IS it possible that it was the other dog that they showed pictures of? absolutely, I think even if the plaintiff's knew in their hearts that it might not be Gucci that they wouldn't admit that because then they would have nobody on the hook to pay for their medical bills, so I don't think they would be honest even if they did have a doubt.

I've honestly never seen a plaintiff completely tank a potentially valid claim for financial compensation with just three words. How out of touch do you have to be to think "fun summer money" is a legitimate thing for which you can sue? I honestly thought that they were entitled to something after they explained the extent to which they had to tend to the dog's injuries but that last bit really ruined any chance of the judge taking them seriously.

The housesitter had incentive to lie. Because the defendant is directly liable as the owner. But, she can now sue him for letting the dog out while he was responsible for it, to recover from him...... It just like cases we have seen where JM tells the defendant "You have a case against so-and-so, but the plaintiff can collect from you now. And then you can sue the third party to recover. I'm so sorry the Plaintiffs dog Bo got attacked by Gucci. At 20:31 Bo's owners are unable to rehabilitate their dog who won't walk on a leash especially past Gucci's house. Dogs don't get PTSD like humans do. Dogs only live in the present. They don't remember specific events (happy or horrible) from yesterday. They have "associative memory" meaning they get stuck in a behavior (good or bad) because of the repetition of it. To rehab Bo we have to create a new, stable (happy) memory by walking Bo past Gucci's house. Obviously they must make peace with the neighbor advising them they need to help Bo get past the house. The owners energy must be calm assertive and find a relative, friend, neighbor who owns a stable dog and walk the two together right next to each other with the stable dog in front. Start walking the opposite way of Gucci's house for a couple days and if successful start going past Gucci's house. Bo will pick up on the dominant dogs energy and "follow the leader".

If the defendant is truly convinced that she shouldn’t be held responsible, she can now sue her ‘dog sitter’ for his negligence, since it has been established by this judgment that it was indeed Gucci, that attacked and bit the other dog. That way she can recoup the cost of this judgment from him. The ONLY explanation for Gucci to be able to do so, is that the dog sitter did NOT close/lock the door properly and/or did not check if Gucci was, in fact, inside the house when he closed up. (Unless there were other people with access to this house at the time this all took place too , but there was no mentioning of that during this hearing). Then again, she did not come across as a sincere or even friendly person and didn’t seem to care one bit about the wounds of the dog. And since I am not a judge, I don’t have to follow the law, so: I think she should pay it anyway. Fined for being as POS. This is one of those cases that I wish the show would NOT pay the amounts that are ordered in the judgments!!

I’m so sick of people calling everything a Pitbull. Neither of the dogs shown are pitbulls. They don’t even look like Bully’s although with mix breeds looks can be deceiving. However, there is nothing about either of those dogs that look like an American Pit Bull Terrier. This is the problem with bite statistics. Those stats are based on witnesses statements. People are calling literally everything a Pitbull. It’s beyond damaging to the breed. I know it’s not related to the case but it’s unreal to me that these incidents are ALWAYS called Pitbull attacks even when that’s not the case.

I don't understand why a dog-sitter would leave the animal to go to work, not making himself available to do the very job that he was hired to do, and then claim that the dog was locked inside the whole time--his absence from the premises alone tells me he doesn't know what's going on because he wasn't there to see it. It looks like he's covering up for himself so anything he says is going to be in his favor, and that why he said the dog couldn't have done it because the dog was locked up. He's lying because the witness said she saw a crack in the neighbor's door. That's not what I'd call "locked up." More accurately, he forgot to lock up.

On the mistaken identity, did they ever show a picture of what Gucci looks like? Seems like something you would need to show to prove that the dogs look similar (or not). I didn't see a picture of Gucci (just the alleged doppelgänger), but maybe I just missed it.

Yes they showed a picture of Gucci right after they showed the pictures of the dog they claimed was loose on the property, at first I wasn't sure if it was a picture of the same dog or not because they do look very similar at a moment's glance, Gucci looked older and a little more heavy set but for someone that is not those dogs owners you could most definitely mistake one for the other especially if you're involved in a dog attack and your mind is going a mile a minute or you're just seeing the dog from a distance running around on the property.

I’m missing out on what “fun money” was. They definitely deserved to get compensation for vet bills and stuff but do those plaintiffs not know how court works. The purpose is to make things WHOLE AGAIN, not try to get a bonanza out of it. I think that’s what they were trying to do, I mean take a reality pill!

What a mess!!😢😢..should of got pain and suffering for the dog, and owners to go through that..maybe not what they were asking but some compensation. P.S, neighbors need to call animal control on that other dog, no reason for him to be out, roaming.
