I don't think he said he was purposefully breeding.. we don't know that.. unfixed dogs get pregnant..and there are some medical and preference reasons besides breeding to avoid fixing a dog. People don't need policing we need freedom without over reach.. when you go hard on someone you end up harming your own self down the line.. take one's choices ...your choices will eventually be affected

You do realize there's nearly a one to one correlation between breeders and irresponsible pet owners who allow pups to be born from their dogs, and stray ad abandoned dogs that get euthanized at shelters every year in this country, right? If he's so selfish that he didn't bother, or so vile that he preferred not, to get his dogs fixed, he's irresponsible and gross, and you acting like it's some kind of personal choice issue is equally despicable. Dogs can't speak for themselves, so their owners are supposed to do what's best for them. Not what they prefer, not what they think is cool or sounds like fun. Period. Almost a million dogs are euthanized in shelters in this country each year, and almost 11 million worldwide. So personal preference and choice shouldn't be a factor in fixing your dogs. It's selfish, entitled, and directly leads to shelter dogs being killed. If you think it's some kind of personal choice issue that doesn't require oversight, you are the problem.

Never keep a pittie, period! You have to be so careful around children and other animals. In my town, a 10 year old girl came home from school, her parents were still at work and the sweet pit bull they owned since the little girl was 3 years old attacked her, biting her face, head, arms. She only managed to live because she locked herself in the bathroom until her mother came home. The house was filled with blood and really looked as though she was fighting for her life. She spent weeks in ICU, had many stitches in her face and skull and lost the vision in one eye from the attack. The family, friends and neighbors said the dog never showed aggression and was a sweet dog, but something just snapped that day and it almost killed the little girl. You just never know and this is a story you hear over and over again. Its sad that people irresponsibly breed dogs, which makes it sad for the dog, owners and victims. Of course that pittie was put down.

The pitbull was the mother of the puppies.. and Maxi was away when he had all the puppies.. He was doing the right thing.

Not all pit bulls are bad it's not the animals fault they have a bad stigma on them its the humans fault for making them like that

I never even thought about how many dogs are bought from backyard breeders and probably later euthanized due to neglected health issues or owners being unfit. So sad :(

Can't even call him a backyard breeder if he has no backyard. 2 adult pb's and a few 1 year old puppy stragglers in a one bedroom apt. Nasty and irresponsible to say the least. It's all about the money.

My vet told me (about a cat of mine) that female cats tend to like men more. My personal experience, as a female who has owned dogs and cats for 30 years, I've had 2 female pets that liked me and my boys were/are the most loyal to me.

You never know though! There’s multiple times dogs have a “does not like men” warning at shelters and stuff! It’s not uncommon!

@@ButtonsCasey I am not saying the concept does not exist, (Though having had both sexes of cats & dogs for nearly 40 years ourselves, we have never experienced the concept) my point was that given the amount of time the defendant and her girlfriend cared for the dog, it isn't out of the realm that he is just going with who he knows best, that it has nothing to do with what sex they are.

I don’t agree with your post at all. Clearly he cares about his pets via his actions. He took the dog to the hospital right away and made sure the dog had a safe place with someone he trusted to watch after the dog return from the hospital. Plus it shows you don’t pay attention because he already had the small dog along with the pit bull. The judge is correct the pit bull was being over protective and attacked Maxy. That does not mean it’s ok for someone else to STEAL his dog. So no he shouldn’t be thank full that the person he trust to watch his dog STOLE his dog. And if you’re an animal lover must not be because of you comment. You would know animals are like children to us and you’re saying he should be thankful someone stole his child 👏🏻 great

The judge is limited by the law, and it doesn't matter if she thinks the defendant is the right home for the dog, because the law doesn't allow for that when it comes to properly.

Also, while I think of it, the plaintiff could equally have been cautioned for irresponsible dog care!

I'm not sure what area you're from but that's just like dentists are allowed to charge whatever they want so a lot of The Times they will just keep up with what's going around in the area I did find a few places online that have things called paw plans and it's where you can pay monthly and get certain visits like check up shots all the basics that a pet needs and you don't have to keep paying once you have the visits they just break it down into monthly installments

What you paid is absurd, DON'T fall for everything they tell you. For 10 k we had a wonderful European vacation.

This is why people who say, "Don't have a pet if you can't afford to fully take care of them." annoy the crap out of me...because if only those who could afford to pay those type of bills owned a pet then most dogs and cats would die in shelters and vets.

Not all areas have animal control or animal rescue. Mine has nothing and even the police are usually useless.

It may use different language when talking about property and animal but we are all smart enough to understand the difference. Here is another one for you, when a pregnant woman is killed they consider it a double homicide but yet a woman can get an abortion and it's not murder. Some things will never make much sense.

They barely do anything. Sister lived next to people who left their dog out on hot days with no water, she called them, showed up and said because my sister gave the dog water they couldn’t do anything and said she had to just ignore it so they can see the state the dog is in. Then they just finger wagged at the owners the next time and didn’t do anything.

Judge Judy always looks out for the best interest of the dog? I remember a case where JJ ruled that a man (ex-husband) who had stolen a dog from his ex-wife and their daughter (who lived with her mother), blackmailed his ex into signing an agreement saying he no longer had to pay child support, in order for them to get the dog back. After she signed it, he still refused to return the dog. JJ left the dog with its kidnapper, saying that pit bulls are not capable of bonding with new owners, so since he'd had the dog for so long, it wouldn't be able to change homes again. Pure BS. In the same episode she also claimed as fact that pit bulls have locking jaws. Again, pure BS. So that dog had to stay with a man who had only taken it out of spite toward his ex and to get out of paying child support, never again to see the family who loved it. The whole case was heartbreaking, and I hated JJ after that.
