The plaintiff claims he loaned his brother-in-law money to rent an apartment since he was recovering from a drug problem. He is suing for a return on his loan, since the defendant now has a high-paying job. The defendant claims the money was a gift, not a loan.

Judge Milian: "Where is your wife? Is she in the courtroom?" Plaintiff: "No." Plaintiff's wife raises her hand. Priceless! What I love about about Judge Milian is how much she value family. Anytime there is case involving family she turns into a mom.. we should all cherish GOOD family- NOT all family. I would never lose someone I truly love over a thousand bucks- to have family that have your back is invaluable.

He’s one lucky guy! I am the sibling that cares and there is no one ever there to care for me! It’s sucks, but I am okay with it, bc it’s so much worse to feel used up all the time. What’s even worse is when you have to eventually turn your back on your family for your financial future and sanity. You start to feel your self worth lowering every time you give in to them. But, I am 3 yrs in of saying my first no. Now they don’t even bother to ask anymore.

A junkie sometimes can’t run from that narcissistic attitude. Could have taken 1k off the truck and pay the sister back. Could have done a lot of things to pay back or show to pay back. I don’t even blame the plaintiffs for not accepting a payment plan. I gave my brother 1400$ and it took him 3 years to pay me back. Every payment plan was broken and I was chasing the money.

I feel bad for the Plaintiffs. Being generous enough to help the defendants out. You've got 2 recovering addicts that have hooked up and their spending every last dollar that comes in on themselves and nothing in the bank for a rainy day. And why isn't she working?? The odds are that he'll screw up and lose that job and he and his girlfriend will end up losing every frivolous item that they blew the money on, and his sister and brother-in-law aren't going to be so willing to get burned again. And back on the opiates once again to cope with their failure to manage their debts.

You could see the pain in here eyes and hear it in her voice. Although I’m not related at all or know them but I truly want to say thank you to the Judge for asking them to hug. Unless you have had a falling out with a sibling you will never know how hard it is to not hug them.

This reminds me of when I was in college and loaned a friend/coworker $500 so they could fix their car (we had a signed contract on the loan and a repayment plan. All in writing). The same night, they showed up at my job about five minutes to close and bought 8 sundaes. It pissed me off. That wasnt cheap. She even showed up a few days later after getting her hair and makeup professionally done for her date. When I owe someone money, I cut things out of my life to save every penny I can so they get paid back.

Every time I see this case I think that judge is so MF nosey and messy to make that lady get up. Not because she wanted to bring them closer but because she wanted it to get Juicy for more mess between them. The husband was doing just fine. She just can't stand when a woman won't speak up. In this case it wasn't necessary to put her against her brother. He already did plenty of damage by being an A-hole who skipped out on paying her back. He makes 70 an hour. He could've paid that back in a week with no payment plan needed if he wasn't a user. Reading all those texts were unecessary tho.

The key to loaning money is two things one to never loan money you can't afford to give away, if I can't afford to call it a wash I don't loan it If someone ask me to loan them money and I do I install it as a gift in my mind of course I want it back but by telling myself I gave it I don't get mad when I see them spend money and number two most important thing if you loan money once and they didn't repay it don't ever loan them a penny again u only get one "gift"
