The plaintiff was hired by the defendant to decorate her wedding. However, she says it was the worst experience of her life because she wasn’t paid in full for all the work she completed. The plaintiff is suing for the unpaid wages. According to the defendant, the plaintiff was paid half prior to the completion of the job, but because the defendant wasn’t satisfied with her work and the issues the plaintiff had with vendors, the defendant didn’t pay the rest.

If you are struggling to pay the wedding venue, vendors, or coordinator, then maybe you should just get married at the courthouse 🤔 I just don't get it. There is nothing wrong with getting married in the courthouse, I did, and we just had a small reception with close family and friends. We've been married 10 years. "Sew your coat, according to your size."

It’s not “gossiping” with other vendors if you’re not paying your bills. Vendors share experiences with each other to prevent these exact issues.

The defendant never should've taken the champagne glasses as collateral for her overdue payment. It does however appear that this bridezilla was scamming quite a few of the small businesses out of their payments. The bride strikes me as a 'Champagne lifestyle, beer income' type of person. Pay your bills lady. Simple.

@@ddnquestion1 I'm a hairdresser who does a tonne of weddings. In all my years I've only had two bridezillas. I've had a few mothers of the bride and the odd bridesmaid who seem jealous of the bride being the focus of the day. The worst one I ever did was a bride and 5 bridesmaids. One of my staff came with me for a 6am start. The first thing I heard from the mother of the bride was "Why did you hire Australians? Meaning us being white Aussies (I'm from New Zealand but live in Australia now.) She was Greek. The bride was so embarrassed. Her Mum made a point of letting us know that she was going to her Greek hairdresser who by was better than us. (we were booked for the bride and 5 bridesmaids only) She told her daughter to watch us as we'd be dirty! She left for her appointment and we continued with all the girls, had fun with music going and the girls all had a champagne breakfast. It was a lot of fun... Until this witch came home. Her hair looked like a helmet, it was truly hideous. She demanded that we fix it. It needed to be washed and totally started from scratch as it had so much hair lacquer in it you couldn't begin to get a brush through it. I quickly told her that I'm so sorry (I wasn't) as we had another wedding to do immediately afterwards.(we didn't) She demanded that her daughter deduct $100 from the bill because we didn't do her hair! That poor bride didn't deserve her mother being an arse on the morning of the wedding. The minute she came home the fun, happy and excited vibe died. It was so unnecessary. As we left I couldn't help but say to the mum that her daughter was actually more Australian than me as she was born here and I'm from New Zealand. We were so shocked as my fellow hairdresser is married to a Greek Australian. Melbourne where we live has the largest greek community outside Athens and it's massively multicultural which is one of the best things about our city of 5 million people. We did get paid in full .... Obviously.

Both of these women are in the wrong here. I completely understand the plaintiff being upset for not being paid what’s owed to her. But taking the champagne glasses was a childish move made by even worse by lying about it. That move alone makes me believe for sure she was talking junk to all the vendors that were hired. The way she talked to the judge proves she knows how to run her mouth. As for the defendant, shame on her! If you can’t pay for your wedding then don’t have one. Plain and simple.

A wedding at the VFW post is very posh and in need of a ten dollar bottle champagne toasts. Pepsi would be fine.

If you can’t afford a lavish wedding, do what is in your budget. Discussing payment that is due is irrelevant. If I do a service, pay me, no discussion. The plaintiff’s story irritated me about the champagne glasses, but the defendant is a liar and scammer.

The defendant should be ashamed of herself. This is so embarrassing. If you can’t afford a wedding why not hold off on the date and save more money, or have a courthouse ceremony? Now you are all over national tv, SMDH.

This situation was unorganized and unprofessional. Always have proof and always have people sign a promissory note and or contract just incase you have to take them to court.

JM still managed to cut her husband off, at the end, and tell the story about their wedding day! He tried to be affectionate with her and grab her hand, but it felt so cringe when she said too late about a warning sign and put her head down....What is your thought?

Never get into a business deal without a contract. A contract can be signed online with an interactive form. Both parties are responsible. If someone refuses to sign a contract pass on the deal. No cash. Pay ahead with check to make sure it clears. Can also get a certified check which guarantees the check will not bounce. Better to also get money orders too not cash.
