The reason Haaland had a low release clause is because Mino Raiola made sure he wasn't priced out of leaving Dortmund when the time came. Dortmund refused close to £100 from Chelsea the season before.

Why can't we just accept that Pep uses rest and rotation for everyone. He has a top 18, not a top 11. We keep looking for reasons why someone is sitting. Look no further than the injury list at other clubs. You can't play 60 games with 11 guys. Pep manages rest periods for players better than anyone.

Indeed, it's a team game. However Haaland is a machine, can understand both point's. Haaland wanted 6, Pep wants his player for next game or give another player a chance!

Although I agree with you, we can't overlook the fact that Pep will bench you if you underperform and that has little tp do with rest and rotation. Look at the likes of Cancelo for instance. He played over 90% of games for City when he was fit and playing well, and when he lost form just after the world cup he was benched. He needed to redeem himself but didn't want to do that and so got the Axe from Pep

Pep calling out KDB and Haaland woke up the entire squad. You can see the level of energy and the amount of miles City ran with more possession

Danny is spot on! When players haven't performed Pep has dropped them and that's what Klopp hasn't done at all this season! Salah hasn't been dropped once despite so many bad performances, Trent has put in absolutely shocking performances in games and started the next one. Klopp needs to start being more ruthless because these players keep starting that don't deserve to and the others sitting on the bench must be wondering what they have got to do to get a chance.

@@alexluna404 Well we got in Calvin Ramsey but he wasn't given a chance despite Trent being garbage all season and now he is injured for the rest of the season and Mo should of been dropped for Carvalho or Elliot could play in that wide left position but Mo plays every game and dont even get subbed. He has been shocking this season I've seen way too many games from Mo like the one he had against Bournemouth recently. We might as well play with 10 men when he plays like that.

Haaland's link-up play this season has been underrated and his work off the ball isn't always appreciated, Kev always works hard off the ball, that first half Danny was talking about was not all that surprising. But of course, there's always room for improvement as they say

I love Simons show. I mean it is his show! As a Man U fan of 60 years.I am limited to the days I can listen. It didn't take Murphy fifteen minutes to mention United's capitulation against Liverpool. Too many players have been making comments about lack of play time over the years and potentially exploring opportunities elsewhere. Ake, Laporte, Sterling especially, Cancelo recently. With the rumors about Alvarez agents putting pressure on City and meeting with Barca, it's no surprise that Pep brought him on quickly. Same for Kalvin Phillips, he's been waaaay off pace, and Pep only trusts to bring him on when City are in the clear.

Don’t worry he’ll put Haaland in the center of midfield and Ederson on the wing before the UCL is out. And when they inevitably go out it’s not because he choked or made an incompetent decision no not him. It’s cause he overthought it.?. So basically had the other manager been up to Pep’s level then his plan would have worked out. That’s kind of a cool way to describe blowing it for your team year after year. He was just too damn smart for everyone else lol. Here’s the real reason he does it. Because he wants it to be about him. Put Haaland up front, put DeBruyne out there and pick 2 of your 25 silky 5’4” midfielders on the wing. That’s it dude. One Daily Mail journalist, who didn’t state his source, suggested Haaland had huge bonuses but didn’t give details and the media has ran with it… oh and that Daily Mail journalist is also based in Salford and is the correspondent for Man Utd.

2 from 7 is 5. Leipzig had ONE shot in target the entire match. The last ref also refused to give a clear pen to city first leg from a blatant hand ball. It is what it is, just be consistent when you nitpick

Have to laugh at Haaland saying he could have had more.. let's be honest, he was lucky that a kenalty was awarded, and every other goal he scored had a huge element of luck, with De Bruynes rocket shot off the bar, could have gone left right , above but fell to the 8 foot tall Haaland... then everything else just luckily fell to him, so could have easily had none at all... yes, Haaland is clinical finisher, but tonsay he gets either tap ins, or rub ofthe green is an understatement!! The man in the sky certainly looks down on Haaland, that's for sure

@@taffelost6221 if you watch the replay of his 5 goals, be honest and tell me none of them were lucky.. if you think he created all of his goals like ,say, Messi does, running past players and scoring then you're watching the wrong game.. I admit he is clinical at finishing, and it's not his fault the balls land at his feet, but come on.. de bruyne should have had the second goal, but it landed the only place Haaland was.. , could have gone left, right, over the bar, over Haalands head but no.. honestly, just watch the goals again... all had an element of luck.. I mean come on, around 6 or 7 city players one of them the ball could have fallen to but it chose Haaland... luck!!

Kdb has not played well for a bit until last night I love the player but I have been calling for him to be dropped...he now has to keep it up...but pep seems to bench players when they seem to be playing well..just my opinion.
