What you see on Pepakura is the back of paper.. it is the inside of the model. But you have option to switch off the side ids from the 2D menu What i mean is that after yout are done assembling the model no numbers or text will be visible outside

If you follow the exact same steps shown in video then in the generated template what you’d see is actually inside of your 3D object. This edge ID is needed so that when you are connecting parts you can determine which edge ( without flap) will connect with which edge ( with flap). Every edge ID will appear twice in your template. For colors the software will pick the colours on your model. If there are 10 colors your will get 10 colors in your template but it does not serve any purpose beyond helping you group parts of same color together for printing later on. Normally in final template you should have all colors switched off because as mentioned at the start the colors you see on template are inside of the model. So keep model colorless, Group parts of same color together and take print on coloured paper for specific parts

In case of paper flaps are needed but if you r cutting pieces on let’s say foam sheets then flaps will not be needed. Color cannot be changed in Pepakura. It has to be done in the 3D modelling software and file exported as .obj. The number of parts can be reduced by using the join and disjoin functionality within the software

The printed side goes inside the model. Hence it is important to take print of pieces on respective colored paper.

Yes the same template can be used for metal craft also, if you are using thin metal sheets which can be b be easily bend on the folding lines. But if the metal is thick then you would need to prepare the template a little differently by have only one face in each part. This will help you to cut each face separately and weld at required angles. In the 2D menu there is option to show bending angles on the edges

The lines will go inside of the model once u build it. There is an option to turn off lines in settings but without lines you would not know whether to fold inward or outward. But like I said nothing printed is visible once u build the model

There are two applications installed when you install Pepakura. One is Pepakura viewer which only opens .pdo files and then there is Pepakura designer which opens .obj and other 3D file formats and saves your work as .pdo files. Looks like you have been trying to open files with “viewer” software. You would need “designer” application which is functional in paid version of Pepakura. I hope this helps

I have not tested all export formats but stl and obj export files from blender work in Pepakura. There are other export formats that also work but I normally work with only obj and stl formats

The software does not allow for changing of color or setting a particular color. You need to set it while building the 3D model. It just utilises the colors in the model

Hi, the color is just for representation purpose. The 3D model came that way coloured only. So either you can color ur model in red or you can disable material color in Pepakura and then take printout on red paper. Either way works fine

Yes.. in the option menu there is a change scale setting which will allow you to alter one of the dimensions and the other two will automatically adjust. You can also do this when you are loading the model in the Pepakura

In free version you only get viewer which will allow you to take printout of pdo files but you won’t be able to edit the pdo files. In paid version, cost $38, you will get access to designer which will allow you to create your own pdo files

Pepakura does not make 3d objects, it just converts 3D objects to 2D templates. So you will still need blender or some other 3D modelling software

You should use blender, is free, and also you can reescale a model. What i mean is that you can make a low poly from a "3d real" model, but you will have to learn the basics of blender because some faces will be "bad interpretated" by the program so you"ll have to correct those by your own, i can let you here a video how kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pJaYntlyq53bfmg.html that's the one

It’s a type of 3D output file. There are other types also available like .stl, .m3d, .fbx, etc. From any 3D modelling software, for the same model you can export in different formats.

Are you referring to the color on the faces of the 3D model. If yes, then in that case, if the 3D file is in .obj format it will display the texture and color once you load it in Pepakura designer.
