nice to see a manufacturer that has the sense to have a real farmer demonstrate and their equipment with honesty and openness knowing full well that if there are any issues not only will they fix that piece of equipment but all of them..... hell of a way to r&d their line!!!!

Finally a manufacturer that realized Onelonelyfarmer is a good proving ground for equipment ! I bought a Pequea 10/18 deckover trailer to haul my pulling tractors 12 years ago, wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. Keep the videos coming Wes, and get down to Central Jersey some time to pull with us.

What I'm seeing here is some very good business skills at work. Pequea is aggressively testing and will have a quality product because of it. All the best to them and you Wes.

The rake is very impressive, I like the individually mounted springs for each wheel and the beefy frame. The spreader is also well thought out and the hydraulic system looks simple and easy to work on if needed. The tetter is pretty beefy as well and looks solidly built too. Looking forward to seeing them in action in upcoming video's.

Not sure if you saw my other comment back when you where looking at rakes but the Pequea seems to be the best rake I have seen. Adjusting the windrow width independently of how much hay or width you are raking is very good feature. Let them know to add dealers in NC. Bought Tedder last year and wanted pequea but bought krone instead due to no dealers around me.

I don't have a manual, but I believe the Pequea SL-6, without the full Digital Master control, has adjustable spinner speed, as well as adjustable apron/conveyor speed control dials on the side of the cart. The Android app, or their web rate calculator, accepts MPH travel speed, product density, spread width (controlled by the spinner speed dialL), and gate opening to be input, and the lb/acre rate will be calculated. I prefer a spreader that has a ground speed driven or controlled conveyor speed, so you can vary ground speed for conditions and still get a uniform application rate (like the Ag Systems spreaders we use). It does appear you can set a 50 foot spread pattern by adjusting spinner speed.

can you film and ask alot of questions from the manufacturer that you can on all of there products . i was looking at one of there tedders two years ago and i was realy impressed . right know i am in the market for a new rake. it is rare that us smaller farmers ever get to talk directly the manufacturer of the products directly so videos like this is a big part of our deciding what to buy.

pequea is built tough. 2 years ago I bought the 4 spinner tedder, I looked at h&s, nh, styrex, Kuhn and pequea was way heavier built it cost $3000 more then the others but well worth it. more arms per rotor, bigger tires, heavier hinges they are just made to last.

The rake looks somewhat similar to the NH procart. It looks like there are good ideas with all of these pieces.

hey wes, cool video, i really like the deal you got there. but 1 question, what do you think/feel about mixing hydraulic oil from equipment that maybe dont use jd spec oil. as far as i understand jd uses their own hydraulic oil, and dont mix well with other types. i was just thinking about it when i saw all this new gear. anyway, good vid, keep em coming :)

On the rake and the tedder, does it look like they'll handle rocks and similar obstacles well? If they do break the stuff near the ground (tines etc) will they fix quickly? I'm assuming prompt shipping of parts.

I would say the switch on yer spreader is to turn your floor on and off while the spinner just keep on spinning, like when you get to the end of your run and turn on the headland. We had something like this on a 6 wheel Unimog. Turning PTO off will turn spinners off and is all the control you need.
@normanreid29447 жыл бұрын
PTO only drives hydraulic pump I believe. I could be wrong, good shot of it at the end if the Video.
@alexveldhuis60047 жыл бұрын
Yes, the pump drives the lot, but the switch operates a solenoid which close/opens a valve in line that drives the floor.
@normanreid29447 жыл бұрын
I stand corrected, never considered the solenoid just control half the hydraulics. Thanks. :)

I really like that spreader! Is the box stainless or carbon?
@Nicolasdu57 жыл бұрын
Nichols Hay Farm. I am not sure but stainless steel is high carbon steel plus other metal
@darrellnichols61797 жыл бұрын
INCO yes we know the physical properties of various types of steel. The industry typically uses either stainless or regular carbon steel. The stainless is way more corrosion resistant. If you were being sincere in your reply then I apologize upfront.
@dylangroff93337 жыл бұрын
Nichols Hay Farm it's carbon steel, you can get a stainless option from pequea.

@finlandfarmer18607 жыл бұрын
Nice equipment there. Proper testing obviously helps making better products. Don't you use contractors for lime spreading? If you have 1k tons of lime to spread this season... isn't that spreader a little bit "garden size" for such a big amount. Contractors here use spreaders carrying up to 20 ton and spreading is done during the winter when fields are frozen.

@tractorboy317 жыл бұрын
hay wes. cool that ya got those to test. i dont know obviously but i would have thought the switch would just shut down the chain on the spreader and not the spinners that way when ya re enable the switch the material would be hitting the disc spinning full speed
@normanreid29447 жыл бұрын
If you look towards the end of the video it is shown that the PTO is only driving the hydraulic pump. With only one switch on the control box I would think that all hydraulics cease when it is disengaged. :)
@tractorboy317 жыл бұрын
Norman Reid a friend of mine has an allen hay rake. full hydraulics that the rake motors are continuous and you have a electric over hydro box to control all of the functions but another friend has an older model that you leave the hydraulics on cont and the elec over hydro controls everything so there are different variations of doing things but i was thinking if you wanted everything stopped then youd kill the pto but to stop more material from coming out thats what i thought the electrics where for on this but i dont know for sure its just a guess
@normanreid29447 жыл бұрын
Now that you mention it, the solenoid may only control the spool which shuts down the hydraulics to belt. :)

what I can see surely is a design flaw on the spreader, they have chains on either side this is not a good idea? is it going to get rusty and clogged up with debris. a better solution is to have a tooth belts or the chain in closed so it's not exposed.
