Wes bought a new rake last year it's a new Holland or sitrex it's raked over 500 acres without any problems at all. I am here in mountains of north Carolina it's rough and steep but holding together looks new nothing bent or broken if you choose that rake I thinking you will be pleased.. keep up good work really enjoy your channel

I have the 10 wheel new holland and the only thing you will not like is they have flow restrictors in the lines somewhere that makes them lift and lower slowly. I plan on getting rid of them when I have a chance. keep the vids coming!

Yeah experience changes opinions... I used to have the same thing about tractor brands but I've gotten to accept other brands. I used to be all about John Deere and fends but nowadays I drive new holland,case,international,steyr, and even Massey Ferguson,amongst some other brands, so it opened my eyes to the competition and I realized they too have cunning inventions and different approaches to certain issues. I remember the auto power on some John Deere tractors didn't know what gear to drive in so in the field it would auto change the gears all of the time. Then I got to drive a new holland with a gearbox that is comparable to the power quad gearbox with the main difference being the layout of the gears as the gear lever only went forward and backward. I think you know wich one I mean. I found that at the time that NH was doing a better job,so nowadays I can see the pros and cons for each brand individually. Thanks for the video Wes, it was good as ever 👍🏻

We have a new Holland. Love it!! My only complaint is the wings go up and down very slow. It can be fixed with larger hoses. For some reason they used 1/4" hose.

i really enjoy ur videos where you go look at new machines, do more if u can!
@skyking2287 жыл бұрын
You can go to your nearest farm implement dealership and check out machinery yourself if you're interested. I generally go when the John Deere reps are in town. Free food, caps, T's, pocket knives, keychains etc.

I have a NH Procart rake. We have had it a little over a season and like it very much. The independent rake springs seem to work quite well.
@mikehoff60087 жыл бұрын
We bought a 1225 procart this year. The individual springs are a must on rough terrain.

we looked at the new Holland and a vermeer. the vermeer was a little cheaper and I liked the quality. I went with the vermeer. it has been six years now and I still havnt even replaced a tine. vermeer vr1224 you will not be disappointed.
@ih12067 жыл бұрын
I like the look of the new Holland. That lighter steel may be due to that extension sliding into the wing tube so they have a snug fit. I really like that you can unbolt and replace the ends of the wings if need be. Narrow transport is nice especially for the amount of time you're on the road with a lot of traffic. If I were picking between the two you showed us, the new Holland would be my choice. Not everything new holland makes is junk.
@chrisrickets98737 жыл бұрын
Never had any luck with a sitrix rake the steel was always very feeble would brake and crack easy and we bale at least 1000 acres or more a year and about 350 acres of rough ground we have had good luck with Kuhn rakes may be look at them also not saying they are the best just been very good to us in Oklahoma I like the peque rake in the video like the adjustable shocks for sure

Hey Wes since you like carted rakes check out the Vermeer VR 1224. We run two of them and work great. Built fairly heavy.
@DudleyMeadowsFarm7 жыл бұрын
You can't go wrong with either especially Pequea. They have greatly improved over the years. I have a 4 star TT and love it. You won't need kicker wheel for your business...and I know you are not getting a BigM.

I like this video, every New Holland product is not a BB340 Crop cutter pick-up
@wcrowder17 жыл бұрын
I have 8 wheel New Holland with Kicker just like that, we bought it last year. That is and extension to add the 5th wheel. The independent wheels really help in the Indiana hills and uneven ground. :) Bought a Pequea tedder this year, and it is built like a brick shit house...
@nebraskafarmer96697 жыл бұрын
Rowse rakes made here in Nebraska are really nice too but pricey. Some are able to pull 3 windrows together if you want.

@brycerasmussen34667 жыл бұрын
The New Holland Pro-cart rakes come with just 8 wheels to the dealer so that way if the buyer want ten wheels they put just the 2 wheel kit on just like that one or a 4 wheel kit.

@alanb93377 жыл бұрын
Would the Pequea WindrowPro rake do the job? I would take one tine wheel off each side so it would be a 15 tine wheel rake to reduce the raking width. The four tires would be better on those rough bumpy fields and you can still move the rake if you get a flat tire. The manufacturer is 'just down the road' so you can work on strengthening the design of the wheel arms, if they do custom builds i.e have them build you a custom mulch hay rake. (Putting on a proper truck trailer tow eye etc)

the farm were I work has a new Holland twelve wheel rake and it is the best rake we have ever had it is not easy to break

wes god I'm envious here in UK it seems to be always a struggle to make hay .cut it turn it many times just when its nearly dry its going to rain so bale and wrap been like this all season . I use a class 2700 rotery rake do you think a wheel rake could cope with the damp grass that i bale . if you visit a stealers yard when in UK bet you won't see one new or old good luck .....dave

They had a good article in Wall Street journal last weekend about how much used equipment is on the market it's absolutely flooded. Companies leasing equipment like Volvo Deere and cat are taking a huge hit because nobody's buying new and if they are buying it's on the secondary market. Needless to say I'm in the market for a backhoe unreal the choices that are out there and the prices

I lived in the Midwest for a few years. Combine envy is a big thing there. You will lose social status if you don't have the latest machine. Of course it has to be green. SOME people buy red or yellow machines. They are shunned.

@spaceblonde7 жыл бұрын
A heavier rake that may last longer might be better in long run than a decent cheap rake. Your business model is one that needs a much heavier and beefier rake that will last with your use
@OkieDoke187 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think you do alot of acres for some of your equipment. Not to mention road travel is a pain on some equipment especially if you farm far from home.

Ha Ha Ha, yes, Wes, try the big-m for a demo..... mower and windrower in one..... plus it should have better steering than even your jd mower, as it's chassis is more like a combine.... Get those swaths done, then compare.... Come on Wes, you can try it.... 2 jobs at once, 3 times the mow width, it ads up.... should be better handling to...
