Like your videos it's refreshing that a young man can talk without all the cussing to get his point across
@mikep78106 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Don't get me wrong I do my fair share of cussing. There is just a time and a place. I'm glad you like the videos.

I had a Kuhn 2 basket Tedder. I wanted to upgrade to a 4 basket and traded that Kuhn in on a New Holland. The New Holland is a Kuhn tedder just painted red and I've had very good luck with it. Happy shopping.

They all have trouble, we have a 10 star Kuhn that we do a couple thousand acres a year with. Anything with any age to it is going to bother.

mikep7810 I do custom hay and every field I m getting paid to cut rake and bale seem to be the rough steep terraced up stuff you wouldn't want to put a bushog on most of the time and in my area less is more most of the time I m new to peq stuff Vermeer balers seem to be king here it's all I have ever run but the tedder everybody has an opinion but it has to hold together teeth normal ujoint tires bearing all part of it but stress breaks would worry me just look over which ever brand you choose I can tell you what has worked and not worked here but maybe the new design is better here Kuhn cutters can take the rough ground along with rhino there are some krone but new Holland tarp arms would break off but now all seem to have good stuff just look for the deals tedder wise

Never heard of them. Is there a dealership around that has them?
@dembeckfarms6 жыл бұрын
mikep7810 check in the Country Folks, or Lancaster Farmer, they usually have adds in there. There's a guy in Texas who sells them, so there's gotta be dealers around

@@dembeckfarms Should check out the new model 6102. The TT6000 was discontinued almost 8 years ago now. The durability issues were fixed by a complete redesign

Hi mike, dumb question: why do you ted hay? I haven't been involved in this type of farming since i was a teen and we didn't ted hay. We just racked it. Our hay always turned out ok.
@mikep78106 жыл бұрын
FRANsylvania Maple Not a dumb question at all. That mower puts a lot of hat in a windrow. Tedding it out spreads it out and dries I out faster. Cuts down drying time and allows us to get it baled up quicker then if we just left it
@frankeem38206 жыл бұрын
Okay I understand. The windrower is now cut a lot more hay than they did back when I used to do it. But even still if you do something like Alfalfa or clover with a lot of leaves on it won't the Tedder knock all the leaves off? I thought most of the nutrition was in the leaves.
@mikep78106 жыл бұрын
FRANsylvania Maple we dont bale our alfalfa we chop it. We leave tha 8n rows cause you want moisture in your forage. If we ever decided to bale alfalfa we wouldn't Ted it. You are right about he leaves. We ted the dry grass hay
@frankeem38206 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your replies. You farm guys teach me a lot. You are the guys that are doing what I would love to be doing! Who knows maybe I just think the grass is always greener or something. The closest to agriculture I'll probably get is my maple sugaring operation. I have a lot of fun with that and it is a growing business.
