Very nice effort, but would need massive CGI (and nudity) to really convey the power of the book. The stories would make a great Miyazaki film.

Thank you for making this; I do not think it likely that this book will ever be (justly and faithfully) brought to the screen, but I do think this is one book that deserves its own trailer.

That's a really cool trailer. The book, however, is mostly expository, which doesn't translate well to the big screen.

Would make a great anime, but kinda hard to have everyone naked in a live action Christian movie...

Good observation. I will bear that in mind - although the world of Anime is such a brackish swamp that it would be difficult to give this book the elevated treatment on the screen that Lewis did in its manuscript.

I'd say just keep the angles right to not show any bottom junk, and for the female top, so it like the female titan where you can kind of see breasts but they're not super defined and no nipples. It's not sexual and I don't think it would be too bad

Could be done with a skin suit, remember she had green shiny skin, similar to fish skin. So the details of nudity need not be blatant. It would take someone in perfect physical form, unless the suit had augmentation, that could work--both for the man and the woman. I don't know that the man had green skin though, I had the impression he had a different colour, maybe gold. Then, there's ransom, he also went around butt-naked in the whole book once he got there. He'd have to be done more with angles, lol. It all plays out in my imagination as I read it, if only I could make it into a projection :)

Good for you for diving into this project! I think an opera of the trilogy could be good too. My favourite line of the book: "In the name of the father, son, and the holy spirit, here goes...umm, amen." (crunch! crunch! crunch). To encourage you in dealing with the naysayers in the comments, I offer Teddy Roosevelt's "Man in the Arena" talk. :-)
@HuntingTarg
@HuntingTarg 2 жыл бұрын
A hearty 'Amen' to Teddy's perrenial motivational speech! You got me thinking that Lewis in his fiction dealt with practical obtrusiveness and awkard absurdity long before the postmodernists started portraying it on the screen.

I do not understand why people cant get outside the box when envisioning this story being made into a movie. Obviously, due to very common knowledge about mars and venus no modern audience would buy the stories happening on either planet. I know that this removes a certain astrological theme from the story but nevertheless, having the story take place in a distant solar system could be a great starting point to capture peoples curiosity. The theological points made by the trilogy are far more important, interesting and stressed by Mr. Lewis than his world building.

Nice fake trailer, but I don't think this particular story lends itself very well to dramatization. A huge part of the story is simply people talking and debating, which can work on the page when the destiny of a world is at stake, but the audience would eventually be yearning for some action rather than just talking heads. To be sure, we do get action and violence eventually, but I fear many would have walked out of the theater at that point.

The American Christian audience would not be ready for such a film rendition of C.S. Lewis's work in a film format. Too genuine in creativity, and with the lack of bias and bigotry so dear to the American evangelicals! Surprising they have not tried to band the trilogy since publication. Thank goodness there are Christian who are equally cerebral as spiritual!

Paralandra as film would be nothing compared to That Hideous Strength!😂 Old men having sexual relations, a woman sexually abusing another woman, a centuries old magician being raised from the dead, a stampede of animals mauling a party, and don't forget murder and suicide in all it's graphic detail.

That Hideous Strength, is so bizarre and strange, you could make it into a Movie but set in the Present I don't know about the Merlin character, but the Bear is spot on kinda of an avenging, representation of the Animal kingdom, it needs some serious treatment.

No thanx- everything decent made into a film by the one eye sign lot is unwatchable. Ruin the books of lesser writers but not this allegorical masterpiece. Look what they did with LOTR-unrecognisable from the books. This is a great work and requires attention spans rather longer than tik tok fans have and thus will be dumbed down to make it accessible. Leave it alone and make the popular rubbish which does well for you but that we, reciprocally ignore. Film is for you-intellectuality is not and let’s face it- it’s not your forte if i look at history.
