They need a marking on that bender like all the other benders. Ideals, and klein has stars and arrows. This is a lot of wasted time if you have to carry this whole thing and a speed square. Measure the pipe then check with the speed. I can't imagine how long this job takes

@@lxuis419 this is how its done in the trade world. I'm sure you could take MM and do that math to see what to subtract. Plus You don't have time to take scrape pipe and line shit up. Like he said, you take your measurement and depending on the diameter of pipe you subtract x and you get your bend.. also there are other brands of benders that have a line that shows you where to put the bender on your measurement and it bends at the correct spot.. I have never seen anyone with experience use the tip shown.

What is happening is your former is adding on 45mm because you're not bending your waste. If you put the conduit in the bottom and bent up you'd be a perfect 300mm Edit or if you flipped the condoot around and bent your waste to the floor. But that only gives you I think 1100mm before it hits the floor

The majority of you guys are talking about hand benders that have corresponding marks on the bending shoe that you'll line up with those measurements. Obviously the style of bender used in the video doesn't have those marks... Did you ever stop to consider that maybe they're just showing you another way to do the same job? Also... Why don't you start your own channel to show the rest of the world just how good you are at everything you do.

Why not just measure to the start point of the fixed former? Mark a point there, bend a 90 then measure how much is added on. That's how much you take off when you measure for a bend. Eg, if it adds on 100mm then take off 100mm, mark pipe, line up with the start of the former and bend, perfect bend every time in a fraction of the time. Old pipe fitter here, you're welcome.
