Seems to me that the manufacturers could inscribe angle markings on their conduit benders and make everyone's life easier.

Do you have a link for the resource where it tells you the bending radius of the conduit? I think it would be useful information to know how much stretch you would get out of each size of pipe for differnet degrees of bends. Cheers for the video Gaz!

Thank you for this lovely video ... Is the rule of 2.5 x 20mm is applicable on any conduit diameter (eg 2.5 x 25mm)?

@@efixx Sorry. I should have been more clear. When I say handlebar set I mean a 4 point set or bridge set. Not a saddle set or bubble set.

Couldn’t you somehow find a way to mark the former with tip ex or marker where back of bend is and thus eliminate the need for scrap tube and set square?

Yes you can. You only need to position the conduit using the scrap and square the once, then once in position you can measure back onto the former, lets say 100mm, then mark the former. The next bend you do, all you need to do is measure back 100mm from your back of bend mark and line this up with the mark on the former. Works everytime

Is this how it’s always done in the UK? We don’t use conduit bending “machines,” we use hand benders and you either bend off the ground, or in the air, the only difference is wether the shoe or the handle is on the ground, and some find bending off the show on the ground is easier. This changes when you get 1.5” and above, as it’s just way too difficult for an average person to make those bends. So you either use pre-manufactured 30’s, 45’s, or 90’s with couplings (most common). Or you buy a hydraulic or whatnot bender. Company I used to work for had 80 commercial electricians in the field. That expensive thing was at the Upornor plant at all times (it was like an 8 million dollar a year industrial contract, they got all the nice stuff).
