Most of the time, laying your multirotor on a flat surface and hitting the "Calibrate Accelerometer" button does the job good enough. But for those of you who want the calibration to be perfect, here you go.
I did a VLOG on hydrodipping some stuff on my other channel - • Hydro Dipping Turnigy ...

Agreed that he has been very helpful. He looks like my son's age. Seems like such a nice kid and talented as well. Well his legacy lives on! I'm piecing together my first iNav based copter using some of his direction. I'm guessing since I have a Taranis x9d I can just shift the centers in the radio menus instead of the stick magic.

JC I have a question for you. If you could shed some wisdom on this it would be greatly appreciated. I still use angle and Horizon mode. All my flying has been LOS. I'm hoping by the winter thaw I'll be ready to fly fpv. Been practicing with Freerider sim. Now I have used Naze32 r5 and r6, Kiss, X-Racer F3 v2 and now the flip32 F3 Omnibus. Also different frames, ESC, Motors, props you name it. I experience this annoying drift. it seems like no matter what. I've tried your method and nothing. now of course this is after setting and points and calibrating through BF. If I try using trims it seem to help for that flight only. Because the next battery. The quad will start off in the directions the trims are set to. Do you have a clue as to what is happening? I'm throwing this out because we have a discussion going on in CT FPV Racing's Facebook page. Some of us want to teach our kids. This would really make it difficult for them. Hard enough learning to fly forget having to fight the quad all the time. My daughter is only 8. Sorry for the winded post. Please help.. and thank you in advance for any information you may have to share.

hey man great video! just a quick question what do you do if the quad starts out perfectly stable then the drift gets worse and worse as you fly? by the end of my flights i have to trim my pitch back about 20 clicks please help! quad always wants to pitch forward as i fly but starts out totally stable any information would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance
@lajosnemeth9690
@lajosnemeth9690 6 жыл бұрын
That's probably due to the gyro noise and can be caused by the high vibration. You won't be able to fix by trimming the accelerometers. Some case helps to balance the props and/motors or to install a silicone vibration damper between your FC and the frame.

@ProjectBlueFalcon

Nope, no lanyard. But I don't use one one the Evolution anyway. It's really for heavier transmitters and guys that pinch the sticks. You use thumbs on the Evo like a Xbox controller.

Is this way the best way ? I been using trim on the tx for yonks ! What is the best practice ? Great vids, helping out 60+ yr old noooobie !
@ProjectBlueFalcon
@ProjectBlueFalcon 7 жыл бұрын
Its better to set the trim with the sticks instead of using trim switches. The trim switches will work but because Betaflight doesn't know you are trimming it, some other variables in the software will get confused.

I use the RMRC Cricket VTx's. They power on with the battery plugged in but they don't transmit until you press the button. As long as its not transmitting you're safe.

Just to clarify, you move the stick in the direction that the quad is moving unwanted? I thought it was the opposite. And you have to save it...maybe that’s why it didn’t work lol. RIP PBF.

So these stick commands adjust the settings on the Board itself and not the Controller?
@ProjectBlueFalcon

Not sure what you mean. It's basically making the same changes as you would in Betaflight, only through your transmitter.
@alfonsoirwin8372
@alfonsoirwin8372 7 жыл бұрын
That technique adjustment apply for every transmitter a quad?
@ProjectBlueFalcon
@ProjectBlueFalcon 7 жыл бұрын
Yep applies to all transmitters, as long as your stick layout is the same. As in throttle and yaw and the left stick, pitch and roll on the right stick.

It work on any flight controller that uses betaflight, cleanflight, and INAV. Though the way I'm moving to sticks to adjust is for Betaflight. For Cleanflight and INAV its the opposite.

Good tip but in my case it doesn't work. The quad drifts backwards but it's not constant. It changes more or less on how hard I'm on the throttle. If I pump the throttle a few times, the quad will drift backwards very hard. It I hold it steady by pushing the stick forward, the quad will eventually level back out with minimal drift. I've tried everything but nothing will fix it

paul zug Yep sometimes that's just what you have to do. Just last week one of mine would roll to the right and pitch forward, but wouldn't pitch backward or roll left. Couldn't figure it out so I started replacing parts one by one till it went away. Turned out to be the flight controller.

Maybe I missed it, do you have the quad in Acro, Angle or Horizon mode. Does it matter? If I recall, seems the ACC is not used in Acro? Plus when I tried this, I was using the opposite to trim, if it went right I input left trim, however, the BetaFlight got me as you mentioned. Thanks BobFlyer

lol this is not calibrating the Acc , you are just offsetting the sticks center which is called "trimming" proper transmitters have trim controls next to the sticks.
