leg dangling is too push the rear down when hard braking. usually in race. that's what professional racer do. because sometimes you're too fast and you need to brake hard.

That is so much different than a dirt bike . In motocross, when you're coming out of a turn, (Hairpin) you'd bring your body up first, but most times, you're nearly stopped anyway, so it really doesn't matter... Traveling at higher speed on pavement changes everything! I'm new to street riding and this is extremely valuable information! I'm not 'racing', on a track but, just riding on the state roadways and county road at forty to seventy mph. Learning to get your speed down quickly and roll through the various corners without losing a good line. Staying in my lane, and keeping complete control of the bike. Street tires and wet pavement make me nervous. I've laid down a Dirt bike a bunch of Times. But, I don't want to lay down my Drz'😅. Thanks for taking the time to do this, Greg! Greatly appreciated 👍

having a good position helps so much... I have returned to motorcycles last year after a decade of hiatus. I was never THAT confortable before, but I have a very light and low powered bike now (ninja 400) and I have the financial means to not care that much about it, so I tried to learn how to actually ride the thing, and get more confortable with its limits, how to move my body, etc. I've gotten so much better as a rider recently! I'm MUCH more comfortable in turns. Body position + keep your eyes where you want to go, not on what you're scared of crashing into... Makes miracles! I'm getting a Ninja 1000SX next week. I wanted the goodies like quickshifter and cruise control, I just hope I won't regret my 400, cause I'm really not changing for a lack of love for the 400! This bike is amazing! (I'm still debating not selling it and keeping both actually XD). The added weight is what I'm the most scared of, I love the feel of the lightweight 400! The 1000SX is a solid 150 lbs heavier!

This is sow sweet... too many people lean the bike rather than their body. The body leans and the bike follows. Then the bike stands and the body follows. Your weigh displacement is what makes the bike turn... not the bikes lean angle.

The start of this video can't be stressed enough. This stuff only applies to on the track or if you're going moderate to fast speed on open road twisties. For someone like myself, who is commuting on urban roads, I'm counter-balancing 95% of the time.
@ChrisinVietnam
@ChrisinVietnam Жыл бұрын
There's a bit of body positioning used in his explanation for how to u-turn at slow speeds. He uses his body as a counter-weight as the bike tips, otherwise it'll topple at the low speeds with handle bars turned full lock.
@NoNonsense_01

Counter balancing is appropriate for slow speed maneuvers. Leaning and body position, although not the first priority, is a good technique for anything higher than slow speed turns.

4 things I learned - get the bike straightened out before you get your butt in middle of the seat when coming out the corner -turn hips, head , shoulders and body in general towards where your turning -the faster you move your butt to the left or right the faster the bike wants to lean -when you break stand tall and as you’re trail braking start leaning in, but your butt still has to be on half the seat, lmk if I missed anything
@MotoJitsu

3rd point...moving your butt left or right doesn't do much...you move your butt before you get on the brakes but however fast you want the bike to lean, that's what your upper body is for instagram.com/motojitsuclub/

Great explanation, but when I start braking my body tend to move forward. How can I prevent this? What I'm going on the track and I know this is wrong I'm lift my upperbody to act as a parachute but I still hold bike's tank with my inner knee. When I finish braking I stick out the inner knee and start leaning into the corner. I can not stick with bike while I'm braking. Can you give me a tip if your please?
@psyclone63
@psyclone63 Жыл бұрын
You aren’t strapped on the bike, so the mass of your body will continue to want to move forward as you slow the bike. A technique I learned in Champ School is “brake lighter, longer.” Apply just 1-2% brake pressure well before the turn. As you transition to braking fully, you should have more control.

6:10 "You have to time your body" Not really. Getting off the bike doesn't command a turn. Getting off the bike results in a quicker response to counter steering inputs & those benefits from a less extreme lean angle. Just set up in advance so you don't inadvertently upset the bike. Forget about the parachute stuff unless you're behind a fly screen & doing triple digits.

Generally speaking the weight is on inside peg once your half cheek; Distance from tank to groin is about fist length and I could be wrong and hopefully he replies but from best I can gather is if you’re leaning over and butt is hovering, could mean the distance from tank to groin is too far.
