This music video was a tribute to all of their past MVs and solos. They used similar backgrounds, props/objects, writings on the set, and outfits from their previous works. Fucking genius if you ask me👏🏻 it also seemed like they were closing a chapter of their past music (hence the closing of the white drop down doors by Jennie and Lisa) to walk into a new era of BlackPink (the entire group getting off the lift and walking into a massive empty white room) which is exciting too imagine what we as fans can expect from them in the future 🙌🏻 oh and we can’t deny that this a message to their haters 😏 if you read the lyrics lol… 👏🏻talk👏🏻your👏🏻shit👏🏻 queens 👑 Fuckin queens I tell you! 🖤💗👑

Paganini’s classical piece “La Campanella” is actually sampled through the whole song and that was such a genius idea to mix it with the hip hop beats! I'm definitely looking forward to the live performance for this as well as typa girl and hard to love

Shut down is genuinely a vibe. They look like all their old songs combined together.

I didn't know it's possible for Lisa to have even more confidence and charisma. Her vocals??? Shookt! Especially on the Happiest Girl and her rap in Typa Girl??? Girl is mad! LISA PROVES SHE'S AN ALL-ROUNDER, AN ACE JUST LIKE WHEN THEY'RE TRAINEES! I'M SO PROUD OF HER.

Not sure if u noticed but the whole mv was paying homage to their previous mvs so the sets were all a recreation of their previous mvs.

If you notice, it looks like they're in a huge garage with different doors (The big white room from the chorus), and apart from the chorus, they're in each of these doors where each scenario remind of an old m/v from Blackpink (e.g the fire from Jennie's Rap part and Playing with Fire M/V, the big glowy tank at the beginning and the tank from Ddu-du ddu-du, Rose sitting on the globe and Whistle M/V... Btw Jisoo in 2:43, the scene behind her is literally from Ddu-du M/V.) There're a lot of references, they're literally shutting down the doors from their past, their haters, their insecurities, the criticism they've received and going into a completely new era. That's why it might look that simple and "low-budget", but it has a huge meaning behind it. And I'm loving every moment of this!

This song and music video is great!! The MV is an homage to previous music videos. I love that kpop groups are using great samples this year: Blackpink "Shut Down": Niccolò Paganini's "La campanella", Red Velvet "Feel My Rhythm": J.S. Bach's "Air on the G String", IVE "After Like": Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive".

In my opinion, their MV represents shutting down theor own songs. In a way that they're now going to transition in a different genre. I listened to all their BornPink album and it's very different. Them shutting down that garage door with like the MV from their old songs means that they will close that chapter and start a new one. They know and recognizes how far they've come and had record-breaking songs but it's time to try something new. I don't think it's a disbandment song as other people suspected. Rather a brand new era for them

I often don't really like BP's sound so I was quite worried for the album after listening to 'pink venom'. But my god, they nailed it for the rest of the album. I LOVE 'shut down', 'typa girl' is another banging song, 'yeah yeah yeah' who doesn't like the retro sound... it's great, 'tally' is another great laid back pop song and 'ready for love' is another good song. Now 'happiest girl' and 'hard to love' are probably my favorite tracks in this album. 'happiest girl' was amazing from start to finish and a Rose solo with "hard to love' was unexpected but GREATLY appreciated. Overall solid 9/10 for the album. All songs sound distinct from eachother and the replayability is high with all of the songs.

Actually most of the scene is on white background not because of budget rather they replicate a white warehouse where every door is a scene of their past mv (like the bedazzled tank from d4 of jennie and garbage truck of lisa from boombayah) where they shut it all down. Blackpink are international stars. Paganini would be proud of the sampling. Paganini’s violin pieces are really hard to play, and the third movement (also known as La Campanella) of Violin Concerto No. 2 is no exception. I am really hyped about it and love the experimentation with classic pieces through sampling and not through crossovers. Btw Franz Liszt transcribed it for piano and it’s quite popular as a showcase piece. ✌️

Honestly the VIP-tickets for the concerts should include a black and pink hearse to come get our bodies after the tour.
