My family owned 3 pugs and this is accurate. Personally, I prefer retro pugs since pugs have serious breathing problems. Plus there have been cases of pug’s eyes popping out of their sockets from having a tight lease. They are also very prone to diabetes, we’ve lost two that way. Retro pugs are just better, since pug snouts get filthy with gunk and need to be regularly cleaned. If you really want a pug, rescue one from a shelter, that’s how we got ours.

It doesn’t add to their charm. It shows how messed up humans are when they breed for looks, not health. That last one was so fat it probably can’t walk. They can’t breathe properly. It’s cruel to continue breeding them to be brachycephalic, with eye and spine problems, and a tendency to get diabetes.
