We have one of these little Perkins engines that came out of my dad's old 1967 Commer 2200 van [ ODT 756E ]. It still is sounding fit, even at nearly 60 years old. Starts first time too. We were going to stick a genny behind it, but the cost of swapping the hydraulic governed injector pump for a mechanical one was going to be prohibitive. Still fire it up once in a while though!

Good to see that rig is still floating around. Running good too! You did a good job with that thing. Looks like it would do fine way out in the back country.

That unit should prove very handy when the power goes off next summer. I have two petrol generators now. Victoria is a joke.

Nice genset, great housing you have for the device as well. Fit a frequency meter in the spare slot. Give it a load test next.

That's a very familiar engine sound.

If it were me, I’d put a tachometer in that last spot; if not I’d put either a oil temperature gauge or an exhaust pyrometer.

i was thinking a fuel gauge may be nice.
@digitalrailroader5 жыл бұрын
V8Jagnut now that’s a gauge I didn’t think about; it’s rather important to know how much fuel you have left before you accidentally run it out.
