Great vid thank you. Simple and quick not 30 mins of chat about what’s for dinner. Clarified exactly what I need to do especially not creating a loop which I was told to do!

Correction, Sorry, I forgot to mention, turn off water that feeds the system before you begin, and make sure the Blank offs you use are sufficiently tight before filling. Good luck again.

No need for caps - just turn the radiator upside down when moving it. Also when off the wall, flush the radiators out with a hose pipe and rinse/treat with rust inhibitor. Same for whole system if possible.

Is there any way of removing the radiator and leaving the 2 pipes each side. Tho not aesthetically great and just capping them and saving all the complicated piping etc towards the end of the video. I just want to get rid of the radiator and mount a wall heater. Cheers

@charlyhellfire, by making a loop, you would reduce flow as the water would follow the route for no reason, effectively restricting the pipe. Wouldn't be major. But the stems branch from the main 22mm, so capped branch-no flow restrictions as the water has nowhere to go other than the correct route.

Are you saying to cap off a radiator permanently. To re join the pipes together for flow? Appreciate ang feed back.

I'll be honest I replied to this 10 years ago with absolutely no idea what I was doing and a huge ego which has since been humbled many times. 😂 I'm still in the trade tho but I've no idea what I was getting at my apologies

hello is it important to cut of the pipes near the t piece? close to it?...because i cant find where it joins the pipe?

You say don't join the pipes together..but surely that keep the loop intact. By isolating each pipe there's no water return..or am I missing something? Also, say I wanted to isolate a single radiator at the end of a run for just a few months would it be possible just to close the lockshield side valve?

No, the flow and return pipes are constantly, flowing anyway, with the rad missing, doesn't stop the flow and return from working, the just wont flow through the rad you have removed. One thing you should try to avoid is using compression fittings under the floor, as they can, and do leak, causing you a lot of hassle by having to take up the floor again to fix it.

have 2 or more buckets to hand when removing rads after the central heating has been drained. Use the buckets to poor any water thats left in the radator.
