All of them deserve better. Especially the Main Character and Akihiko. Makoto lost his entire Family and some friends and his will to Life. Akihiko lost his Sister, Shinjiro and at the End Makoto. Junpei lost Chidori and Makoto. Yukari lost her Father and her Soul Mate. Mitsuru lost her Father and Makoto. So yeah it really needs besides the Original Plot a Option for a Happy End.

you can revive him in the female route, I did it in my playthrough, but that was 6 years ago. I cant remember how I did it

I just looked it up. You can only revive him if you max his social link before he dies, so, unless you have a save file you can go back to, you are fucked

funny thing how when I first played the game (one of the first people who bought the game on day one) I played the male route first then tried female side I was doin shinji on maxed everytime I get see hes available for bonding (this is after I learned from my brother you can save Shinji from dying if you maxed out his s.link)

Shinji was the only character I wanted to romance in the Female route, and doing so was one of the most rewarding experiences. The ending even if you save him is so bittersweet- SPOILERS- Shinji wakes up from his Coma, and you die in his arms, this is the last time you will ever see each other- as soon he will die- and you will be forever stuck as a seal
