I wanted to do a pinned comment on this, but I wanted it to be relevant to the video. If you want to see my thoughts on the new Pokemon games, I might do a community post. Can you guys see those? Anyway, a couple of thoughts I couldn't fit into the video: Ryotaro Dojima's Japanese voice actor has sadly passed away now, but he was the voice of Professor Oak in the Pokemon anime. Yu Narukami's Jp VA is the official dub voice of Elijah Wood and a few other big Hollywood stars. Nanako's Japanese VA is Estelle in the Trails series, most people already know that Romi Park is Edward Elric in FMA (so she does a much better job of sounding male than Naoto's English VA), and Rise's VA is very well-known for playing Tsunderes. (Which Rise isn't, most of the time) TCRF mentions some unused story scenes in Golden where the party talks about a typhoon, that are apparently fully functional but have no voices. I didn't include this in the video because I couldn't find any concrete evidence of it elsewhere and TCRF had no citation for it. And one regarding further P4 bonus videos. I think I have the whole Drama Sun SL recorded, but I was holding off in case anyone wanted it to include Yumi's summer shrine visit. This would require me to play much further into a new file just to record this one scene. Does anyone really want to see this? (Non-party members don't get yukatas) I DO have her Christmas Eve scene recorded.

The fact that Yosuke has broken status on Dungeon dialogs just shows that he was meant someway in the game to be a relationship option. Maybe they thought the game was being too risky at the time of release with Kanji already touching such touchy subjects for the time.

Yosuke being a romantic option would be interesting as it would also break his offensive demeanor towards Kanji entirely, I really hate how he keeps picking on the guy for being "supposedly gay".

Interestingly, when Teddie and Naoto are in the party when in the dungeon, Naoto's side profile appears before Teddie's. Additionally, on the party status menu, Naoto is placed before Teddie, and it also extends to the equipment menu as well

I mourn the possibility of Yosuke's romance route every day. If it wasn't cut, he's insecure and projects on to Kanji. Without that context he's just an asshole

It has always been odd that Yosuke ISN’T romanceable in P4G. A lot of his dialogue could be interpreted as him being very deeply closeted or upset by what he’s realizing about himself. Idk, I think he’s at least bi, and it seems like the cut content confirms that a bit.

Man P5's Unused Content video is gonna be a big one. Anyway, Unused Content videos are always pretty nice and interesting.

Originally Dojima was supposed to be the killer. Fight me. Adachi really feels like he was made to be the killer at the very last minute. If you choose Dojima as the killer, the game gives you a funny message something like "Haha, you know he actually could've been the killer, but that's not the right answer we're looking for, please try again"

My best guess for the Margaret lines is that during the boss fight, she was meant to taunt you as opposed to praising you. The messages about wanting to kill you or the direct insults would precede the Megidolaon, and her line about "If you wanted to die, just ask" was probably meant to precede the Yoshitsune phase. Or maybe it was meant to be like Elizabeth where she had "rules" and said these when they were broken. Perhaps if you brought the Omnipotent Orb?

My favorite unused shuffle time failure message has to be the Lovers. Too bad Priestess, Hierophant, Tower, and Star didn't get anything special. So I've written some "what if" messages myself! Priestess: The Priestess has failed? That's not supposed to happen. This here is a bug. Hierophant: Go to your room. You're grounded for seeing this bug causing The Hierophant to fail. Tower: Wait, The Tower actually fell down? The bug was a bad omen, after all! Star: This is a bug. The Star has gone supernova.

Yosgay romance option should've been left there and never scrapped. We were literally robbed.

Teddie having his own dungeon would’ve been interesting. Maybe it’d be during that point in the game where he disappears after Nanako comes back? That moment (specifically how the protagonist found him and how he returned) always seemed kinda weird and out of place.

At least I'm happy that someone made a complete mod of Yosuke's romance route. Definitely welcome that a lot.

Something else interesting that isn't unused but you'd never get the chance to see: The shadowy Izanagi you use in the dream sequence is named "Black Izanami" (sic), and is identical to a Level 1 Izanagi, except with no weakness and 99 Agility. Similarly, Izanagi-no-Okami's appearance in the final battle is actually a separate Persona named "Okami", who has 16 in all stats (exactly 1/5th of normal), and has Myriad Truths and Infinite Endure.

it hurts so much that yosukes romance was removed. like he couldve been genuinely good representation and OPTIONAL too! it just sucks honestly. i hope atlus just grows a pair and makes male romance options because theres no reason not to! it harms no one and gives ppl the option to romance someone they fancy :D if u can date ur teacher u should most definitely be able to date ur bro!

24:27 those portraits aren’t actually unused. In-game, they’re used when you first see the shadows on the Midnight Channel. In fact, in the cutscene where she appears, Shadow Yukiko doesn’t have yellow eyes, either. Same thing goes for the anime, too

So the Rise glasses in her Alpha channels of her portraits look like they'd belong on her if she were a battle icon, (implying she would have been a party member who would fight) Since they are from a side view of the characters

Unlike most other Unused Content Videos, I had a decent knowledge going in. But still there was a lot of things I didn’t know about, which is better for one of these than knowing everything. What was kindnof interesting was realizing things I didn’t during the base game, like Ididn’t even realize the cut-ins for cutscenes were even missing from P4 when they’re used a lot in 3 and 5. Also poor Chisato, relegated to a stock photo, or at least something not even in the style. And even though that photo of Adachi is a previous design, headcanoning it into something in-universe is much more hilarious. Was going to say this was the end but I guess not. If there needs to be a separate video for that, then dear god there must be a lot.

25:50 This is interesting, because this means the portraits would have been the same style as P3, which showed the characters almost down to the waist, allowing for the artists to dramatically change their poses and body language. I do kind of miss that approach, especially since P5 only shows their heads, but that makes sense because the character models are able to show emotion much better than the ps2 models. Also, the P3 portraits took up half the screen, including behind the text box, which could be seen as unnecessary clutter.

So, the people saying it's impossible to remake P3 and that it's like making a whole new game from scratch, they clearly don't know the short cuts and tricks developers use to speed up time and save money, especarlly the amount of P3 leftovers seen in P4's files and they'll most likely do the same thing for the P3 remake. See?! I know how making a game works and how developers make them. So, stopping using the "It's like making a new game from scratch" excuse.

I replayed Persona 4 Golden recently and if I recall correctly, Teddy was always listed last in your party. Which jives with his number coming after Naoto's.

I do like watching these unused content videos. It is always interesting to learn more about the games we enjoy playing and if I ever make a let's play, I want to make unused content videos for those series. A lot of things happened between uploads. I am on the second to last chapter of Live A Live and I am nearing the end of Part 3 in Radiant Dawn. Live A Live is proving to be better than I remembered but I am not sad that the game did not get an official localization considering how Japanese most of the game is. Radiant Dawn is just as fun as I remembered and I am very happy with the units I am using.

what im thinking is that the side ways glasses are what you see on the team members in your party, i think that rise was going to be a team member that you could have had on your team and she would have a pic pacing to the left like everyone else in your party and thats her glasses facing to the left

An unexpected surprise, but a welcome one to be sure! It has been so long since I have seen an P4G stuff from you that I actually forgot that there was still going to be stuff to talk about; my brain basically registered the thought that you covered everything and were done. Anyway, this stuff was very interesting. The joke/dummy texts were laugh out loud funny for sure. Looking forward to the unused dialogue from the main story! Anyway, I saw the Pokemon video late at work today. My reaction was "...huh." at first, maybe just because I was tired from working. I'll say that it does look interesting, with DP getting a Link's Awakening look and Legends looking... the way that it does. I am cautiously optimistic. It looks nice, but I want to wait until more gameplay is shown. I am still VERY excited for New Pokemon Snap though! It looks like it will be a lot of fun!

Nice video, I wanted to share a thing about the "Messenger" enemies. In japanese, they have completely different names. They don't share that "Messenger" bit and they seem more like description than actual names. All of them can be translated with "Someone who...". I still have no clue what they were supposed to be, but it's pretty interesting that they changed those names this much even if they went unused. Since they're four, I think they might be related to those "Gatekeepers", but who knows.

32:00 Maybe this was the inspiration for Jails/Will seeds in P5R & P5S, other obvious inspirations aside I think it’s pretty cool that they decided to bring back something similar to this in the later installments it kinda adds more challenge to the palaces, and especially the prison keepers in P5S.

My guess is that Deep Breath Deep Breath remix was meant to be the song that plays durring the part where the Investigation Team visits Club Escapade durring the school trip, it would've been the song that plays through the club's speakers, which makes sense. But for the final game, the song that plays in the club is instead the opening theme of Persona 3 FES.

The tv head party members remind me of an interview Kana Hanazawa had with Adachi's Japanese voice actor I've seen on youtube, which was honestly a funny interview.

I'm curious if any of the unused Basalt enemies from this game showed up in PQ or PQ2 at all? As cool as the Shadow designs can be, the nature of there being so many pallet swaps and similar names makes it a bit difficult for me to remember off the top of my head if any of those names look familiar. Sideways Rise Glasses: one of the cut-ins that used the very early Rise design had her facing sideways, maybe that's how her portrait was meant to be posed all the time and those glasses are a remnant of that? Unused P3 fanfare: Unless my ears are deceiving me, I think this might be an attempt to reorchestrate the opening notes of the opening version of Burn My Dread as some sort of upbeat victory fanfare; it _really_ sounds bad to me, though, so I'm glad that P3 went with what it actually used. That said, it also makes me think of the opening notes in the instrumentation of Heartbeat Heartbreak and Signs of Love, so it might just be that the unused fanfare just uses notes and melodic movements that are common in Persona music in general rather than referencing anything specific.

the thing about the yosuke romance is what bugs me the most... it was just there it was an "actual" idea it's literally on the code.. why did they cut it off?? like this game already touches the same sex attraction through kanji (though it seems like the game just let it hang and doesn't really develops it). it even felt like a step forward to the liberation of female only romances :( i hope that in next games we are able to see more options regarding this issue bc i feel like there was a huge downgrade in p5 with the whole ryuji drama and stuff. let the boys be gay good lord

At 17:28 I anticipate that these were to drop from the bosses of all of the areas mainly because of the birdcage key relating to shadow yukoko and the fruit of love relating to shadow kanji but I could be completely wrong

Most of this stuff is understandable why it was removed except for the gas station social link. That would've made the twist actually mean something dude. Like adachi in P4G. That would've been great

I wonder if they ever get excited and/or upset about certain lines getting in/cut respectively. 4:16- And now I'm reminded of the Malcom in the Middle song. 6:08- I wonder how that Social Link would have worked. 13:14- I know you said that they're pretty similar with how they sound, but I really noticed the difference between the two performances and it feels weird not hearing Sam Riegel's Teddie. 18:13- The Unused Fail Text for the Lovers still gets me every time. I always found unused content in games really cool. They're glimpses at looking at all of devs' thought processes and all of their ideas for a game. Whenever I watch videos like these I have to wonder what unused content lies within other games, especially ones that are more obscure or haven't been explored as much with unused content. Also found that bit about why they leave unused content in; Didn't realize trying to remove stuff like that could cause issues like that. In other news, I guess I have to address the elephant in the room in regards to recent events with Pokemon? So my thoughts on that, the new Pokemon Snap game looks fun. Not sure if I'll get it myself given I'm probably on a tighter budget at the moment in regards to games at the moment, but Snap does look very tempting. Next up are the Diamond and Pearl Remakes, which seem interesting so far. Granted I'm going to be waiting for further trailers and details to see if I'll actually get them given I'm still a bit jaded with certain aspects of GF's design philosophy , but if the remakes end up looking promising, I'll give those games an honest shot. Hopefully these remakes take a ton of elements from Platinum since while I still love the OG D&P games as they were the first Pokemon games I became excited for and happy to get (have no recollection of getting the Gen 3 games despite growing up with them), Platinum fixes so many issues with the base games and hope the remakes tackle those base issues too (and also fix up other issues that Platinum never addressed). And then there's the Arceus game for 2022 that completely caught me off guard; I figured they would give Arceus some more prominence in the Gen 4 remakes given how his event completely got shafted, but to get an entire game was a surprise. Really looks promising given how it's set in Sinnoh's past, which might allow us to explore more of the lore featured in the library. Also it's truly interesting with their starter line up to being ones from different regions. Granted this decision has left me in a tight spot to pick a favorite child between Cyndaquil and Oshawott (two of my most favorite starters), but I can delay on that issue until next year. However I will also will be approaching this game with cautious curiosity and will wait for a greater amount of information on it before if I decide to get it.

Speaking of cut things from the TV listings, they also removed the live Concerts as well the Commercials and trailers for the other Persona games when they Ported Golden from Vita to Steam. The Commercials I can somewhat understand considering they advertised on Playstation but concerts.. I wonder why they would remove them?

2:13 I really don't understand why they cut the Yosuke romance. It's not like Persona hasn't had gay stuff in it before. Spoilers for Persona 2 Innocent Sin!!! In that game you could chose to have Jun as a romantic partner granted P2 doesn't have the same visual novel elements that later Persona games do but Jun is still a romantic partner.

I remember when I looked through the cutscenes code when you were looking for info for Marie that there were areas that had flags for social links breaking and reversing but only for female characters. There was also some names that never appeared in the game which made me think they were code names or the names just changed. Wasn't able to find more because most of the code was extremely hard to understand. I think somewhere in the line of getting the code and decoding it (since it was in a format my computer couldn't read) that something went wrong. I refuse to believe they actually wrote the code in such a way because that would be complete incompetence.

I can tell that the localization team had a lot of fun with what I like to call 'dummy lines' 😂😆😂😆😂😆 30:22 Korean version uses Japanese voice acting so... yeah.
