Admittedly a lot of the dialogue choices you need are things many players would choose naturally. It also sucks WHEN you get him though: he's only usable for the final boss of the 3rd semester and none of his unique abilities and resistances are really useful there, and you can't even take him into the Superboss.

I really like these bios too since I did learn a good amount about these Personas, mainly on the lore side. I will be really looking to those bios for the next LP too. Good work beating Nocturne considering Hard mode is no joke with that game. That challenge run sounds really interesting so I will be looking forward to hearing about it. Wasn't expecting the XC3 DLC so soon too and I will be watching my brother play it. Good work with Monster Sanctuary considering you are close to the final boss and I wish you the best with the post game activities. Happy to hear about Blasphemous II and I hope good things happen to Cassette Beasts in the future. As for us, I have made a good start on the Amateur League events in Gran Turismo 3 and that has helped me unlock some pretty cool cars like the Nismo R32 GTR from the 80's Sports Car Cup and the Mine's Evo 6 from the Race of Turbo Sports. More Amateur League events will be my next target. Cold Steel 2 went well too since I beat another story arc which ended in a fight with a character that a lot of VAs really wanted to voice. I do want to get on to the next arc but my brother's room is getting a makeover which means I can't connect the PS4 to the TV so I have to wait until we get the new TV first but at least I can still play my third playthrough of Engage while I wait. Both me and my brother have been having fun with our Engage playthroughs thanks to the DLC being very funny as well as the some of the funny reclassing we have done too. Finally, I finished recording my Persona 3 Portable playthrough and it was a really great time since I learnt so much from playing it and P3P is a game I can recommend too even if P5R is a better starting point for a newcomer to Persona. Now I want to finish some loose ends of videos like the my thoughts on Engage video before the next playthrough which is Shadow Dragon.

@@BerserkerRohan Yeah, Klingy's addition of talking about the Personas' origins is another thing that makes his bios and LPs so great in my opinion; The fact he does this extra research to also show the game's thematic and story elements by explaining the Personas' origins and how they tie into the plot really makes me appreciate the careful decisions made by the devs when making games and shows how much Klingy cares about his projects. It'll be fun seeing the next set of bios come the next LP that warrants them. Many thanks. Besides the more frequent ambushes and some damage numbers being concerned highly, I do think Nocturne even on Hard is very exaggerated. Only time I ever got really frustrated with the game was Third Kalpa and final dungeon ambushes that waste time (i.e War Cry Spammers), but besides that, Nocturne even on Hard is quite manageable once you're out of the early game, provided you know how to counter the obstacles ahead. Probably more accurate to called it a "themed" run given the nature of it, but I suppose the limitations imposed qualify it as a challenge run. Yeah, no one was expecting it to come out at all like that; Were it not for it coming out a week later from when it was announced, would have been basically shadow dropped. Anyway, have fun with that DLC when you and your brother play it. Many thanks. @@jaredfayette2567 It is great to learn about the lore of the Personas since a lot of thought was put into the symbolism which is easy to tell thanks to the bios. That is nice to hear since it sounds like the typical difficulty curve of the average SMT game since it is hard in the beginning but becomes more than manageable later. It will be fun to learn about that run regardless. I was expecting it for later in the year but it is hear now and it will be interesting to see what it is about thanks to my brother. Sounds like it will be quite the challenge so hopefully that goes well. Hopefully we can see that console release soon. The Nismo R32 GTR is really cool and it being a GTR means it can compete in the Race of the Red Emblem later on too. The new TV will be very exciting. Sure, the game is made much easier thanks to DLC but being able to do stupid things in Fire Emblem never gets old and it will be fun to talk about some of the funny things that happen later. The amount I learned from playing Persona 3 Portable was amazing and it was my favourite part of playing it for the first time on the channel.

This is actually a compilation from a full, I guess "Chugga-style" LP of P5 on this channel, although most of the similarities to him are coincidences. But basically I noticed few people on YT do this with Persona playthroughs, so I wanted to fill that niche. This video's started doing really well with the algorithm in just the past month, which I wasn't expecting but it's cool more people have found it. (Especially getting my views on Yusuke out there, I feel he's badly slept-on as a party member)

P3 Portable was my first Persona game and I love it so much. I haven't seen the Christmas event with the girls, as I romanced Akihiko, but that sounds sweet. I think I might have gotten super lucky with the final boss in P3 because I played on normal and breezed through the fight pretty easily. Though maybe it's not as bad as some people say. I think Hereward is usable in Velvet Room Challenge Battles... but not against Lavenza I'm pretty sure.

As both a Sly fan and Persona fan, I felt obliged to. Shame Sly got stuck ending on a cliffhanger.

I got so hyped for P5 when I saw the gameplay reveal because I was a huge Sly fan growing up, got in Persona when I was older, and P5's style looked like Persona x Sly Cooper. It's probably because both of them draw from Lupin III in terms of style, one of the more iconic modern-day Phantom Thief stories.

Counter enemies are pretty rare iirc. But yeah, his Baton Pass skills are insane.

I'd say... hmm. I actually really like Robin Hood as far as initial ones go, it's a shame he's not great in battle. 2nd tier, probably Hecate. 3rd, it's a tie between William and Hereward.

The gloves may be a hint to Akechi's true nature: unless I am seeing them wrong, they are the same red as Joker, whose base persona's main element is Curse. (Also, Akechi can still use Curse attacks while using Robin Hood.)

That's cool, didn't notice that about Akechi but it fits. People used to think red = fire in the early pre-release days, nobody expected a Dark-specialist MC.

Yeah inheritance types are weird like that. They only prevent Personas INHERITING that type of skill in fusion, but they can still learn that type by level up or with skill cards.

Strikers actually acknowledges people doing this by having Arsene learn skills up into higher levels.

That's why I used the music, as a Sly fan growing up I saw a lot of that in P5 and it's why I loved the first "phantom thief" reveal trailer. I'd already played P3 and 4 by then, but I freaked out at this being Persona + Sly.

I wonder if you would've been able to use Hereward earlier if they'd gone with the unused Akechi 3rd Awakening at Jazz Jin? Agree that it sucks you can't even use him against the Royal Superboss. At least Ella has the niche of being good against Maruki.

I personally don't rate Ryuji as highly as many people (he doesn't get aoe Charge until very late, and it's very expensive), but even I'd say Low C Tier is too low. Shock Technical is very good, especially with Makoto's Trait. I'd personally say the only Low C Tier is Robin Hood Akechi, but he's only around for one Palace anyway and a decent number of enemies are weak to him.

@@Flamemaster78 I've always considered the "ultimate" Personas in both 4 and 5 more in line with the Personas you get for maxing out each Social Link/Confidant than a party member Persona upgrade. Satanael is entirely separate from Arsene and can be customized through fusion inheritance, while the others are a straight upgrade on the party member's normal Persona. In my view Wild Cards don't have true "second tier" Personas. By that logic I shouldn't have included Raoul here, but it's more directly tied to Arense.

Technically his Tier 2 persona is the one you use for the vanilla final boss, which I grouped with the ultimate Personas rather than the party ones.

I would switch crow with violet. Violet has increased critical hits and a lot things in Maruki’s place are weak to bless. Meanwhile akechi has stuff that other party members can do better and not many enemies are weak to curse.

In terms of gameplay? Because if so, my ranking would be: 1. Queen. (Versatility, great offense late-game with Atomic Flare, great synergy with a lot of Jazz Club skills, Judge of Hell) 2. Oracle. (Tempted to put her above Queen, but she's not an active attacker.) 3. Fox. (I REALLY like his Baton Pass attacks, and Charge fixes his one issue from vanilla) 4. Skull. (He's always felt less good to me than to most people.) 5. Noir. (Psy Technical is just THAT good in Royal) 6. Panther. (Goes through SP too fast. Sleep is nice though.) 7. Mona. (He'd be lower, except he's helpful early on. He's the "Jagen".) 8. Violet. (She's hard to rate, because she joins late, but in the one dungeon you have her for she's REALLY good) 9. Crow. (Only gets two dungeons and he's not even good in either)

@@starmaker75 Joker can easily cover Bless Weaknesses and Critical Raise will never be as valuable as Stat Buffs or Charge/Concentrate. Also Panther has one of the highest SP pools in the game.

Brave Step is basically necessary against Lavenza, which kinda forces you to use her there. Also, I don't really think saying "Joker can cover that element" is fair since that's true of EVERYONE. There's a lot of things weak to Bless in the last Palace. Ann's SP pool might be high, but her late-game skills like High Energy and Blazing Hell are really expensive. Spell Master from the Jazz Club can help, but a lot of people want that.
