@@devegas4910I think it was more cause their other persona games were 80~100 hours, so a drastic shift to something 140~160 would’ve maybe turned off past players. Especially because they’d grown up, now having less time. Not to say royal isn’t long compared to the other games, but base game was similar in size.

Idk i feel like a scene like this helps mask the eventual truth later, he seems more genuine like he's fitting in better and just talking to everyone more, but I guess the bridge scene became his big brain moment instead

There's no way to prove or disprove whether or not they were all staged. However, what I'm trying to say is that we're still shown throughout the game that he is intelligent either way.

​@axhgro2839 The cases Akechi solved were caused by him. This is stated multiple times in game. He solves cases that he caused which then causes him to gain popularity. If you want a bit of a refresher, look up the cutscene of Akechi talking to shido in his office or the cutscenes that play during his boss fight in shidos palace. Akechi himself confirms the fraud behind his cases.

A lotta little shit in the palaces is filler but they removed stuff like will seeds being backstory and funny lil scenes like this, its kinda weird to me, maybe this and the bridge scene don't both need to exist but idk, I think if anything they shoulda had a makoto moment with sae somewhere

@@unknowed5048I dont even remember it exactly but I think if they had finalized it the intention behind those kinda scenes would be to show how they werent ALWAYS horrible to the core ever since hitting adulthood, but to show things that made them as terrible as they are, which is something the game never really does get into, not that every villain in everything needs a backstory or a tragic one, but something to go off of in a directors cut sorta thing like royal would be nice, but I dont think anything they could show would make their present day selves much, if any less hateable

There's a group of modders working on a P5R "complete" edition. This audio had already been found before so I bet they were working on an animation, but considering the fact the original animation has been found they'll probably just use this. I image they'll try to add in the other stuff found recently too.

Due to the nature of game development taking so long, the script is finished and voiced long in advanced to the completion of development, that way they can just cut anything they don't want/need instead of having to bring the VAs back in to the booth multiple times

@@starshape6650not really. akechi’s third semester expressions are new to royal and afaik don’t replace an old portrait slot like the other party members’ new expressions. if this scene is from the original game it shouldn’t call that expression because it doesn’t exist

@@cyanidepizza I don't know what this scene looks like without modification, but since it was scrapped I imagine a lot of the lines don't have portraits assigned to them. As a result, while piecing the scene back together and cleaning it up for this video, the creator probably had to assign portraits themself and picked the 3rd Semester smile for a few lines because it fits the smug delivery, as opposed to just keeping his expression neutral. And in case you're wondering, some of Akechi's 3rd Semester expressions exist on all of his outfits in the Royal files, so that's how they got it on the Prince attire.

@@p.j.3578 This is correct, no portraits assigned to the lines, the text also did not exist in English at all so I had to type everything while listening to the audio files and also constantly check line breaks and try to do my best with them, among other things too.

On that last point about Anne, the phantom thieves had to give Akechi the impression that they were not onto him already, so she was probably buttering him up.

@@Evil_Beauty I’d get that if someone else said it, but coming from Anne I don’t think it has that meaning. She’s a model herself who isn’t shy about praising people’s appearances. Akechi is known to be good looking in-universe, so it’s not that unusual that she would make a comment like that. I do think it’s a bit out there considering he was supposed to be the enemy, but maybe she was being sarcastic haha

@@marzh1073 not to insult Anne's intelligence, but sometimes the things she say out of impulse can be on par to ryuji levels of stupidity. Or his airheadedness, give or take. And sometimes, she doesn't even realize the things she say of genuine niceness results in her being TOO nice for her own good. It's as if she's honest to a fault where she can't say anything bad to ANYONE, even to someone who committed heinous crimes that are considered unforgivable. Or like how Mika was literally sassing her the entire time. Being sarcastic about Anne's weight loss regimen, and playing her for a fool. If this were Akechi in place of Mika, he'd be dancing circles all over Anne's naivety, and honest demeanor without remorse, or sympathy. And why wouldn't he? He already did it with all the fangirls that are infatuated with him as the, "Detective Prince".
