I think you're totally right! I'd say most people thought that the new content in P5R is some of the best in the entire series and should be the canon stuff but for whatever reason Atlus is afraid of using it for the most part.

@@Dualshockers Plus we can add Persona 3 FES to the mix as well due to its events with what happened to the P3 protagonist (Minato/Makoto) being referenced in the P4 Arena games. I would like to say P3P as well with the FEMC, but her status of being canonical is questionable at best due to PQ2. So it’s even *MORE* baffling why the events of Maruki’s palace, Black Mask Akechi and his ruthless nature, Sumire Yoshizawa and her coming to terms on Kasumi’s death (plus her hidden yet obvious crush on Akira/Joker lol) aren’t even mentioned AT ALL in future spinoff games like P5D, P5S and the main story of P5T now. If P3FES and P4G can overwrite their own timelines as the true main one, then Atlus has little to no excuse to do the same for P5R.

The issue with the conflicting narrative between P5S and P5R is that both games were in development at the same time, but were not fully overseen by the same ATLUS developers. Thus, we have two different sets of content that don't correlate together. In of itself, this doesn't really make sense given that this isn't something that should ever happen, but that is the official story as I know it.

Like the developers and Japanese audience don't even think about this. Which is why both P4 and golden are both" canon". For the people who made it it's just extra details and events in the timeline

I feel the same way, especially given how hard Atlus has pushed P5R, but it's just weird that P5S and P5T came out after P5R and they're so afraid to involve themselves with the extra content in Royal

@@DualshockersWell, at least they finally used P5R content in this game, even if it is a dlc. It’s canon, but maybe they’re just trying not to spoil Royals content

@@Random1567 Yeah, I think that could be a reason why, but they're perfectly fine with spoiling the ending of the base game? I guess it's been six years since that came out, but by now it's nearly been four since Royal came out so I have no idea. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that Kasumi and Akechi were included for the DLC, it's just a bit odd how they've handled it all.

@@Dualshockers Maybe since the main version they’re trying to sell these days is Royal and not the OG as much anymore. “Gotta buy and play Royal to find out!”, or “Can’t ruin/spoil Royal for them!” or something might be their line of thinking lol I agree it’s still odd and that they’re probably overthinking it, but it would kind of explain it. They’ve gotten a lot more serious about expanding the series. Plus, to make a sequel or follow up game, you’re kinda forced to acknowledge the original game. Maybe “protecting” Royal content is their happy medium to not fully spoil it. I still think they’re being overly cautious, but Altus is kind of just like that these days.

@@Random1567 TBH that does make a lot of sense given the way that Atlus handles spoilers. You can't record any of the third semester in Royal from your console and you weren't able to record anything in the base P5. Such a weird move

Sae's Palace including the Spinoffs becomes the Most Story heavy time for the Thieves. An Arena game to tie a bow on everything or open doors for Persona 6 is an ideal way to inject more cash into 6 without 5 feeling like it was all for the Milking machine

You're probably right. I'm cautiously excited for P3 Reload but I'm ready for something new from them

I don't think there gonna remake Persona 4 Golden. Unlike Persona 3 that have several flaws and could use a update P4G is pretty much perfect.

Persona 4 hasn't aged as badly as Persona 3 did. It doesn't really need a remake. Knowing Atlus, though, it's hard to be certain

@@shinobirecords2018 I think you're precisely correct about aging. My thinking is that it's much easier to modify an existing story than to concoct an entirely new one. They'd overlay P4G with that modern, flashy aesthetic of P5/R/P3R. Only concurrently/after they've wrung all the money they can off of previous entries would they then present P6.
