Oh thank God this game doesn't do the XCOM thing were you miss a 99% shot all the time. Now I don't have to scream in anger over the soothing Persona music on this one. Thanks for the review.

As someone with over 1200 hours on XCOM 2 alone I find those statements so misleading and untrue. Yeah I get the memes, but people seriously blow out of proportion how often you miss high % shots in XCOM. Perception bias is too powerful I guess.

@@sukamadik5983 Nope, I don't use any mod that changes the math. It's a simple matter of perspective. If you make a 90% shot you will miss 1 out of 10 times you take the shot, and hit the other 9. Most people won't remember the 9 times they hit, since landing those shots are taken for granted. But they sure will remember the 1 time they missed. And such it creates this wrong perspective about the probability in those games, you don't remember all the hundreds of 95% shots you hit, but when you miss oh boy do you notice it.

@RatoInsano While you may have played a ton of XCOM, that still does not alter other people's experiences of this! The fact that so many others have memed and joked about how this accuracy metric is unreliable is proof of its impact on the community, which is to say not to trust accuracy ratings on any cover based tactical game that has it.

I liked the first half of the game, felt fresh and innovative. Unfortunately 2nd half stopped introducing new options so it became quite repetetive. I also hated last stretch before final boss where they put a bunch of annoying battles and forced you to fight some previous bosses again. My biggest complain however is the very slight significance of personas fusion. Game is pretty easy and forgiving so I never had to optimize my fusions and did it only to boost my stats. Personas abilites felt very underwhelming so spending time in velvet room was a chore. My favourite part about P5T was side quests, especially those that required to clear stage in one turn. They were kinda like a chess puzzles, some required a bit of time to figure out and were very satisfing.

I agree with you, and I think maybe more things added could've made the second half a bit more exciting. That said, I was pretty enamored by the rest of it, despite that! I was a bit tempted to put the difficulty higher, but when I saw that friendly fire was going to be a thing, I kinda chickened out lol. But those side quests! I definitely think some of the best content's hidden in that part of the game.

it had a splatoon-esque mechanic. very colorful. i loved its aesthetics more than the base game@@BacklogBattle

I wasn't initially super sold on the art style from what I saw in screenshots, but the game looks super clean, stylish and vibrant in motion. Between that and your review, I'm looking forward to picking this game up eventually! That and Triangle Strategy. I rewatched your review of it recently, I've been working my way through Octopath Traveler 1 for the first time and have become more interested in the other HD-2D games, and it looks super compelling. :)

I have been loving it. Persona 5 is a world I never tire of. Combining that with a solid tactical game has been a great way to spend more time with those characters

I beat this on Gamepass but plan grab a physical for my persona collection when less than 20. I think anyone looking for a super deep tactical game will be somewhat disappointed but as someone who really just likes the charcters I had a pretty good time and game took I think less than 30 hours. Been over a month since I played but I remeber feeling low on skill points entire game. Even right before final boss I barely had decked skill boards

I think the Xbox article was mistranslated. I've seen a lot of fans say that other translations of that interview don't make the claim that the story is non-canon. Also if they really wanted the story to be non-canon then they'd probably do the memory wipe thing they usually do, but they don't do it.

I’ve heard that claim as well. But to be fair, Atlus has never refuted it. And typically, PR people are on top of these sorts of things because they care deeply about how their game is represented. And I’m 100% certain that PR went through this interview to approve its posting. So fans can speculate all they want, but they don’t work for Atlus. And until then, I will only report what official channels say.

I was debating between this, Hogwarts Legacy and FF16. In the end I bought Hogwarts Legacy 50% off on ps5 and did a twitter poll on what I should ask for Christmas for the other two, and FF16 won by a mile. As much as I love Persona, this game is certainly one to wait for a sale, especially with the platinum duration being only 30 hrs….
