the perspective tools were already pretty amazing before, but yeah, aligning two vanishing points to be on the same horizon, making parallel rulers perfectly vertical or horizontal and so on was a serious pain. great to see Krita get ever more userfriendly over time!

I was a long time wondering how to use those vanishing point handles, so thank you for taking the time to explain it all in detail, also the divide sections trick, so simply demonstrated, Krita has tools but we don't often have enough explanations of them because the user base is still smaller than other apps.

Thanks Ramon! And thanks Krita team! I know there is the wrong place for that, but let me see if you agree: 1- each instance of the assitant tool - I mean each vanish point, each elipse, each parallel ruler, each...) should have one different collors by default, because at the end you "always" change the "default" gray collor. 2- the "horizon line" of the assitant could have a thiker stroke than the rest of the lines 3- each handle could be different, like one filled another outlined because they have different functions, make sense they appear different too. The same for all kind of assistant tool. I know this is useful only for begginers (like me) but it could make Krita even more friendly for new users.

Thanks for the video! I read the docs and I was having a tough time visualizing what should be happening. I LOVE Krita so far, been playing around with it for about a month and there are so many great features to it! I feel like it's much, much better suited for drawing and painting than Photoshop is. The way pallettes work, the brush engine and tagging brushes, the pop-up pallette...it's got so many great features. And animation is a huge plus, too!

I like seeing this program having tutorials and upcoming FREE updates I have photoshop installed , but i'd rather use Krita because 1)unlike photoshop which was originally made to edit photos , Krita was made for drawing 2) Krita has animation , and i like animating 3) the white plant-girl splash art for Krita is enough to make me choose it over other apps xD I bought a drawing tablet yesterday , and i barely know how to hold it's pen or anything in art but i want to learn how to draw characters in order to write and publish FREE educational stories in the future as a hobby , and i think Krita is easier and is best choice for my simple non-advanced needs

This really does help. A year or so ago I started creating art in the digital format and the first and only program I have used is Krita. I have mostly done a lot of portrait work and some full body character work, and a couple of logos, but have yet to delve into actually creating backgrounds or buildings, but I have really wanted to give it a try and these instructions are really going to help make it less challenging.

I didn't know you could align the VP assistance with the guides so I've been eyeballing it all this time😂. I also had no idea of what those handles did. Hi to all! Has anyone faced with a problem when you use the assistant tool and you cannot zoom in? It seems like the canvas is just being covered with an additional non-transparent black layer so you can not see what's going on behind it. This black "layer" disappears when you zoom out to 50% or less. Can anyone help? (I doubt it's a hardware issue, NVIDIA RTX 2060 should handle with such calculations easily) I'd be grateful if someone could share the solution.

@@KritaOrgPainting it is not a question of what isn't working in your video, it is that the tool behaves differently in version 5 to the point that I cannot understand how to follow along at all with the steps in your tutorial. However. When I was seeking how to explain my problem, I found that the solution is explained by another video you already made, this one. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aLyYqrZ3stOqfqc.html&ab_channel=Krita Maybe if you just made a note in your comments that users of Krita 5 should look at this other video? This all started for me because I was searching for Krita tutorialson how to draw buildings or architecture. I appreciate that you have made so many tutorials and will be looking at the other one, thank you!
