Took it apart and ran my endoscope through it to see how the magic works.
Also go over orienting the Distributor Drive gear, and testing the coil for required resistance.

Thanks this helped me fit my new Aldon 101by1 dizzy with ignitor 1 with no issues. Wired the red wire to the fuse box and my RVI tacho is working fine with this electronic ignition system.

Very helpful as I look at my 77 also with a flamethrower that I've never been 100% happy. Understanding how it works helps.

30 years of working on my on A and B series engines, I did not know about the proper way to use the distributor clamp. Thanks for the info

LOL... Well I am no expert. But on disassembly, I found a lot of things that were not treated nicely. My observation on the bend pattern seemed logical.

Thanks a bunch. You are a lifesaver. I guess the short green and blue wire goes to the thermostat switch on the head. And the long green wire isn't used. Correct?

That sounds right. GU = green blue Just verified on mine. Its a dark blue almost looks black. Validated on my copy of the wiring diagram drive.google.com/file/d/16RPydBN6o4YOzeP6EQH1_oquNcZ1fI6Y/view?usp=drivesdk

There are 2...a short 1 and a real long one.

Hey alex. I now have a pertronix setup on my 77 mgb. In addition to the wires coming from the distributor, what other wires go to the coil. I can't make it out by the diagram. What is the long green wire on the alternator part of the harness connect to.

I had that question a few times on the Facebook forums. I will do a short form video on that today. Basically the black wire from dust goes to the coil neg. As does the white black (tachometer) wires The red from dist goes to the coil pos along with the white green pair of wires. There are a few other wires in the bundle from the Alternator that no longer have a purpose as I have removed the emissions air pump
