Best Backpack Sprayer? Flowzone Tornado and typhoon 2V vs chapin 24v battery powered
Today we do review and comparison of the flowzone backpack sprayers tornado and typhoon 2v vs the chapin 24v batter powered backpack sprayer.
In the end we discover the chapin 24v battery powered backpack sprayer has a runtime of 2 hours, sprays between .12 and .2 gallons per minute. Runs between 35 and 40psi and the charge time is 4 hours It does well for the casual user. It tends to be shipped without the hoses tightened down and it has several design flaws.
Best Backpack Sprayer? Flowzone Tornado and typhoon 2V vs chapin 24v battery powered
The flowzone backpack sprayer tornado
-2 hour run time
- 2 pump speeds. Low 45psi High 60psi
- fully charges in 2.5 hours
- pump is rated for 200 hours.
Does great spraying herbicide, pesticides, water and may other liquids.
The typhoon 2v is a beast. The V stands for variable pump. Which means you can choose how much water comes through the pump.
Here are the ratings
- 3.5 hour spray time
- variable pump from .12psi to 115psi (.12 gpm to 1.12gpm)
- pump life 1000 hours
- batter charges in 1 hour
There is no comparison between the Flowzone models and Chapin. Design is superior and you can repair the backpack yourself. Flowzone allows you to order any part on the backpack.
The typhoon 2v could just be the best backpack sprayer on the market. I was able to fully customize mine and put a 1-3gpm rainhead nozzle on mine and spray just like the professionals I couldn't be happier.
This backpack can altered with a boom sprayer, rainhead, fan head, cone head. You can also customize it due to the fact it has quick connects. Weather your spraying pest control, herbicide, non selective herbicides like glyphosate or roundup, or water you'll be happy.

That is an awesome idea. I do a ton of round-up jobs, but I can not pull a lawn care hose from the truck across good turf to do it and a standard backpack with a standard sprayer nozzle is slow and not efficient, your 1 gallon per minute chem lawn nozzle looks perfect. Great idea.

I use my flow zone v2 for commercial pest control, I consider it my most essential tool, even over my B&G, with its low psi setting I can even use it indoors and cover my entry points, get around large buildings quickly, with out dealing with a long hose and with out straining my body during every single treatment. The only problem I had so far was the battery showed me full power when in fact it was dead, the trick is to push the button on the battery a few time’s back to back and the second or third time it’ll show the power level indicator bars drop to the actual battery level.

Lawn Ginja, I did it. I just bought the Typhoon 2v - 2 model. I have the Chapin, but concerned about it's longevity and I am using the backpack sprayer a whole lot now. I really dig Flowzone's quick disconnect features, which like you say is a game changer. Hopefully, I can use my collection of various nozzles I use with my pressure washer with this unit. One of the main feature of your review that really made me decide to go the Flowzone is being able to use those pro nozzles (purchased the Blue and Yellow). Also, I like that all parts can be replaced by the owner. Unfortunately, Flowzone was out of the T-Jet adapters, which are on back order. I will have to rig up something. These backpack sprayers are hard to find these days and Flowzone says they won't receive any for at least around 5 weeks because of the Covid 19 and that can even change quickly. If anyone is looking for them and having a hard time finding them let me know. I've found a couple online suppliers.

I'm looking at these for a very unique reason. To rinse cars. I want to start a vehicle detailing business but I don't want to leave water spots at all. Without having to buy a tank and what not since right now I don't have the room for It. I really like the 2V. That's more pressure then a water hose, that would be perfect for rinsing off water pretty fast. I'm tempted lol

I’ve been researching a backpack sprayer and I’m proud to say I just ordered a Flowzone sprayer this morning based off of several reviews and your video of this product. Looking forward to getting my hands on it, should have next week! First up today, a soil test and general assessment of my lawn. I have a huge spot where a tree was removed two summers ago, so I need a plan there. Keep up the great work!

Great video(s)!! They have helped me out a lot. If you ever get a chance, please do a comparison between this Flowzone Typhoon 2v and the Milwaukee sprayer. They look similar with adjustable PSI. I use the same video, agree with the pace and overlap, plus I tend to hit areas a little too long. One thing that's helped me is to use some herbicides at 75% strength (particularly tenacity), it usually takes a 2nd app anyways and this way the grass doesn't turn white.

Great question. The answer is it all depends on your lawn goals. If you want to keep it short, below 2" I suggest mowing 2 to 3x per week. If you want to stay at 3" or above I recommend every 5 days. If you mow frequently mulching is recommended. If you're taking more than .25" off the top I recommend bagging.

I just subscribed to your channel. It seems like you work hard to respond to every comment! Damn thats hard work! I have a question: I've only used pump sprayers but want to get a battery sprayer for blanket spraying fertilizers and herbicides. Do I really need a sprayer like one of these that shoot with all that pressure and spray far? I'm just looking for a sprayer that keeps constant pressure without pumping, so that I know I'm blanket spraying at a consistent rate. Am I missing something here regarding the need for one of these bad ass sprayers for my application needs? These basically seem to act like pressure washers or hose end sprayers. I'm comparing these to a simpler $90 field king 2 gallon battery sprayer. Thanks PLG
@pestandlawnginja
@pestandlawnginja 4 жыл бұрын
Here's my 2c. The more volume a pump pushes the faster I can complete the job. if you're not concerned with time and you don't mind doing a ton of preventive maintenance then sprayers like the chapin and others a like are good for what they are. I've grown to love the flowzone because of the interchangeable parts. you can buy any part on the entire back pack sprayer at anytime. you have a mother board go out you can buy a motherboard. you have a pump go out you can buy a new pump. It's pretty ahead of its time and a game changer. With that said you can buy the lower end models and save some money as opposed to buying the typhoon 2v look into the tornado. great value for what you get.
