I've been using the stone for years. Best tool for pet hair removal. I tried other tools like Lilly brush and carpet brushes, but nothing compares to the stone. You need to use some fabric softener diluted in water 7 to 1 ratio. Mist it on the carpet then use the stone.

I have more trouble with removing pet hair from the seats of vehicle, not flooring. I was using lint roller, but it wasn't working well..out of frustration I pulled off a few sheets of the roller paper, used it like tape..and it worked! My GSD sheds like crazy! Thanks for the tips.

I have been detailing for 19 years ,. And I always use the pet stone. It is truly a detailers best friend it also gets out grass.

was not expecting that result. from my experience with using a similar stone for calcium deposits on showers and sinks I expected it to be more brittle and break apart. Awesome to learn something new from a video.

Petstone for the win for sure but add in a good 6mil nitrile glove and your golden. You can use your fingers, hand or back of hand and it pulls all that pet hair as well. Also a single finger can get into some hard to reach areas.

Thanks for saving me from wasting money on the Dyson. As for the other 3 methods, I feel a plain dry rubber glove or damp hand skin work better!

The stone is amazing for big areas. I would use the black brush for areas close to plastic and between seats.

Pet stone , is just a Pumice Stone - also used to clean scale off S miming pool tiles and calcium from toilets. They can be found in most hardware stores- they are usually about 6" long and square in shape. They can be very easily rounded off by scrubbing on concrete.

Great video! I am shocked that a little stone did a good job in picking that dog hair up over a Dyson. The brush was pretty good too.

I use a mix of all of them, but the rubber brush is my favorite. Especially when paired with a vacuum to pull out the hair as you go, and using the rubber blade side rather than the brush. I have a pit mix whose fur absolutely will not come up otherwise - and we spend a lot of time in rental cars traveling.

Thanks for the tip, would never have thought of using a pumice stone, over here called groomers stone, the shape you used, with the flat side and equivalent size isn't available in the UK far as i can see, so had to wait ages for the post. THE BEST THING !! i've ever used to get crap out of difficult to vacuum dry car carpets, well worth the wait. Thanks again appreciate it.

Who'd have known a pet stone could do all that ?! lol But now 2 years later I have a Shark vacuum with Zero M technology, that seems to do better than any vacuum I've had anyway. 👍🏼 I didn't get the duo because I wanted the vacuum exclusively for carpets ! One trick you missed --using a squeegee to bring the hairs together, and then vacuum. Works well for me at home

I’d never even seen or heard of a petstone before, and I thought I’d seen everything in this department 😃 One thing worth mentioning though; I noticed you’re using the Mini Tangle-Free Turbine Head with your Dyson vacuum (presumably a V6 by the looks of it). Those are alright for bigger vacuums, because the motors in them are able to produce the levels of suction required to drive the head as well as pick up any debris that the head lifts from carpet. However, when used with smaller vacuums, like the Dyson handsticks, most of the suction is wasted on driving the turbine head itself, which means the dirt/hair in the carpet is agitated to the surface but doesn’t really end up inside the vacuum, which I noticed is what was happening in your video. One solution is to purchase a mini “motorhead” for the Dyson V6, which will have its own dedicated motor (powered by the vacuum’s battery) for driving the brushroll, thus allowing the vacuum to effectively pick up any debris the brushroll agitates to the surface as it goes along. Another solution is to use a full-sized vacuum cleaner (obviously doesn’t have to be a Dyson) that has its own turbohead, or even better, its own dedicated powerhead. A little more cumbersome, but will provide a much deeper and more effective clean.

Which one would you suggest for upholstery? Bought a used sofa that I didn’t realize had pet hair until yesterday (didn’t notice it when I first when to check it out 7 days prior). I just need a good tool to get up the hair before I have the couches professionally deep cleaned.

This is an older generation Dyson. I compared the shop vac to a dyson V8 and the dyson killed it!

I was trying to remove hair today but didn't have a pet stone. I used a pumice stone that they sell in the cleaning section at Walmart. I also used a dry microfiber cloth and rubbed it across the carpet. That pulled up dog hair too.

Where do you buy a pet stone and the rubber brush? Pet stores? Never heard of using a pet stone before but I am impressed with how effective it looked on your presentation.

I use a lilly brush to get the bulk. Then I spray carpet cleaner lightly and use my drill brush that's shaped like a bullet head . I hope the vacuum up to the brush and turn it on

The best remover is a damp Terri cloth hand towel. Another one is leather gloves.

For hard to reach areas or tight corners etc, just use the painters tape, stick and peel, wont leave any residue and you can buy a 100M roll for $3.00. A little more effort maybe, but what else is better for getting Husky fur from under car seats!!

The problem with the Dyson is that you have the no tangle tool which would be used on big clubs opposed to the powered mini brush head used to lift up the fibers of carpet

If you pre spray the carpet with a mixture of water and fabric softener it works a lot better

The pet stone works better if you treat the area with a 50 50 mix of water and fabric softener.

Use a pair of mechanic gloves with rubber on the palm side. I made the mistake of letting our Husky go for a ride. If anyone is familiar or has a Husky, you know they can drop enough hair to make another Husky in one day. Our brand new two week old Grand Caravan looked like we had murdered our Husky in the van. Regular car vacuum did nothing, our garage heavy duty vacuum wasn’t much better. The glove for brushing dogs to get the hair out of the coat before it’s dropped, did a fair job. I went into the garage to see if I had a rubber brush, and saw my mech gloves. They were new, and I remembered watching a car detailer video on how to detail a car start to finish, outside in, and he mentioned using rubber gloves. I thought what the hell. It worked,! You have to go slow with medium pressure and you get a line of fur that needs to be vacuumed up. I’m sold!!! At least now I can rest easy that I won’t get arrested for killing and de-furring our Husky in the brand new van!!

I use my standing Dyson, not sure which model but the one with the smaller ball. Anyhoo, I use the upholstery attachment and while it still leaves the hair that has grooved its way into the fibers of the carpet, it does a much much better job that this one. Maybe a different attachment would work better. I have a question, it seems like the stone is just raking up the hair and maybe some of the carpet too. Have you noticed any damage to your carpet with the stone?
