Mayor Pete makes me proud to call South Bend my home town. South Bend was a dying town Where others saw rust and decay he saw value and a future. There were many things that divided us but Mayor Pete sees that which can bring us together. He has made mistakes but who hasn't. What makes a man is not the mistakes you make but how you pick yourself up and move on. I believe he can help all of us move on. He will move us into the future. He is my choice.

He's a genius with a heart and vision and decency - he's brilliant with smart priorities for returning America to representative government. No other identifying aspect matters to me - his wisdom and empathy are his categories. He's unlikely because he's the most intelligent person in my lifetime who has run for president in one of the two major parties. To vote for him would not be voting for the lesser of two anything but for the best America has to offer and I love him for offering himself to this moment and this office.

I am so blown away by this guy, he is amazing.

Whether you supuport him or not, his candidacy alone is already HISTORIC in sooo many ways, not to mention how many lives of the young boys & girls he just saved by showing the example that YOU CAN BE WHO YOU ARE and aim for the highest office in the world. Mayor Pete showed up at the CNN Town Hall and then I watched him on Bill Maher after that I realized I've never believed in any politicians the way I believe in this young man, genuinely. He's like the real-life version of "Aaron Sorkin presidency" in 'The West Wing.' He stands pretty much the same on every major issues as the rest of the candidates do. EXCEPT he embraces capitalism and is willing to make it more democratic instead of turning into socialism (we can expect to see more specific policies in the upcoming months, coz he's still on his "introduction tour" now, coz he's literally a nobody and it's still May 2019). Not to mention his "biography," and his calmness and overall mental outlook. He's willing to engage in a healthy discussion, not gonna give the answers that u want to hear without alienating you AS BAD if you're wrong or disagree with him, and also wants to listen and learn from his mistakes. He's come across as a HEALER instead of an ANGRY REVOLUTIONARY WARRIOR, and boy, after Trump has divided America, isn't THAT exactly what wee need from a leader? 😍😍😍 #PeteForAmerica

You know, Mayor Pete definitely already has my vote but the more I watch and listen to Pete (and Chasten) the more I come to understand that, irrespective of his political fortunes, Pete and Chasten will be just fine in their lives together. It’s easy to see how in love and how contented in their lives they are. I can’t imagine that Pete approaches any pursuit worth his time and effort with less than complete dedication. If Pete doesn’t win the race he’s running, it won’t be because he did not give his all. I’d wager that anyone who’s not a complete partisan can recognize the genuine earnestness and the deeply-held convictions that appear to fuel his quest for the highest office in the land. You can agree or disagree with him on the issues of the day, but you can’t say that he’s doing all this for an ego boost or to financially enrich himself. Mayor Pete is, to me, that rarest of political creatures: he is entirely genuine...a man who definitely is what he appears to be...nothing more, and certainly, nothing less! A person like that has found his path and his passion, and having done so, he’s already ensured that he will always be a winner in life in general.

To those “WHAT ARE HIS POLICIES?” trolls: 1. Yeah, like you really cared about it. If you really did, like myself, you would have encountered literally 100s of hours of freely-available in-depth interviews he has done last few months, if not years, mostly covering POLICIES domestic and international. 2. If you’re too lazy to search yourself, go to his website meetpete.org , which, btw, was actually available when the second CNN town hall happened where Anderson Cooper first complained about lack of 'policy points' on his web site, and 10 minutes later Mr Cooper corrected his mistake. 3. I am an average person. I have a full time job but I’ve been paying a decent amount of attention to politics. I can confidently say I know more about Pete’s POLICIES than any other democratic candidates’ (sorry Warren, I know you put your stuffs out there, but just like everybody, I couldn’t find time to read those!). 4. Moreover, Pete is the only one who also articulates ‘how’ part of achieving his policy goals. Bernie? Yeah, I know what Bernie’s position is, for example, about healthcare. Everybody knows Bernie is for universal health care. But how???? that's the question.Actually, Pete has provided pathway to achieve the same goal, in the form of public option as a glide path. How about offshore tax haven issue? Pete has a specific taxation structure molded after inter-state tax appropriation. How about Supreme Court? He has a law review article ready for Supreme Court reform around the idea of 5 more judges appointed by court itself with unanimous consent. 5. I sense most of recent ‘no policy’ criticism is coming from Berniecrat, self-anointed ‘progressive’ purity nuts. If you’re part of this group, I hope you realize that doing this hurt your candidate and your agenda. A lot of people get turned off not by Bernie, but rather by his supporters.

I could listen to him (and Chasten) all day. Everything resonates; especially the idea that a fundamental sense of "belonging" is what moves people to bring out their light or their darkness. That's the bottom line.
