There was no 3 point line when Pete played, someone went back and did some research with box scores etc. and figured that had there been a 3 point line Pete would have averaged 57 points, maybe more. This was also done in 3 years as no freshman played then.

Pete’s per game average was something like 44 points a game. Clark, although she has a shot clock and the three point line only takes on average 20 shots a game. Maravich shot 38 times a game. My point as many will say, these are two different eras, and apples to oranges comparison. Clark is in her fourth year and will likely beat the all-time record in her last 2 games of the regular season. Maravich tallied his totals in 83 game, three years of play. Like Maravich, they are legendary icons of their own time, like Larry Bird was in Indiana and Magic in Michigan.

It must have been a time to remember for Mr. Bob Collins who was one of the 2 officials in the game. Yes back then everyone use 2 game officials rather than the 3 you see today on the court.
