Imagine if he would play for Celtics or Lakers in his prime.

I remember watching Pete at LSU and through his pro career and he's the greatest ball handler I've ever seen. I think he was ahead of his time. If he played with todays Warriors he'd be off the charts because the Warriors press the envelope every play and take risks all the time which can, at times, look really bad but more often than not work out so well. Pete was a great shooter from really deep except they only counted for 2.

4:40 is the end of the single game highlight, after that is the half-time "special presentation" prepared by former NBA player Jack Twyman highlighting Pistol Pete's rookie season progress in the NBA as well as their half-time Interview.

1:48 While he didn't dunk like Jordan, this move exemplifies what I've only really seen Pete and Jordan do which is that true double clutch on the way down and then make the basket. They both had similar creativity in the air with the hands which is not something I've heard many people talk about. When talking creativity It's usually about dunking or dribbling.

Good stuff. I've uploaded footage of this game before, highlighting Pistol Pete and Lou Hudson... And we've got the same stats except that I believe I've accounted Maravich with having 9 rebounds (3 offensive)...

What a tragedy that nearly none of all he games he played in the NBA were ever recorded for posterity. Truly a half century before his time.

This is when you couldn't carry the Ball like they do now. A time when a dribble was a dribble

I think Maravich might have led the league in assists every year if his teammates could have just handled his passes.

What a dead crowd. Was the arena almost empty? It just sounded hollow, even when there were some spectactular plays, most of which were made by Pistol Pete.

If Hudson and all those other guys would have left all that verus racism alone(I'm African American myself). They would have had a run and gun spectacular team. That could have been like a forerunner of Magic's showtime Lakers. With Walt Hazzard and Pistol in the backcourt. But they were to busy worrying about Pistols contract. To some extent, rightfully so because of his untested rookie status. But guys like Pistol, Earl the Pearl, Dr. Jay, David Thompson, Tiny Archibald, etc. Are the ones untested or not that bring in the masses of their disciples to worship at their throne. And as a result of these increased economic numbers. Hudson and the rest would and should have benefited as well. Especially if the win lost columns also increased as well.
