Can't wait to finally see this movie!

Peter Bogdonavich is woefully underrepresented on bluray. We still need TEXASVILLE, THE THING CALLED LOVE, NICKELODEON, THEY ALL LAUGHED, NOISES OFF....even ILLEGALLY YOURS.

This is Bogdanovich's debut film by way of Roger Corman which is to say cheap and quick. The commentary is priceless on this disc. I would recommend this to any aspiring filmmaker who wants to get their film made but have limited resources. Bogdanovich gives you a film schooling here. Just incredible and I love this episode of Just the Discs! Keep up the good work!

Targets was my number one wish list for Criterion collection. I am thrilled that it was released. Probably one of my favorite films of all time. I remember the first time I saw it, i was pretty young, probably eight or nine. I saw it on a public access channel when i live in New York. It really stayed with me and effected me throughout my life. I lived in Austin for a few years and every time i walked by the Texas Tower on UT's campus this film always came to mind. I can't wait to get it in my collection.

I watch all of your videos and leave a thumbs up but I thought this one deserved a comment. I love it when you deep dive into a release and highlight your enthusiasm for it. That is what I love about your videos. Not just look what I got but actually sharing your thoughts. You have cost me a few bucks now and then, but the money is well spent. Never disappointed in your recommendations. I always feel more informed when your videos end. I don't follow many but you are one I look forward to watching every time. Keep up the good work.

I saw this film at a horror convention in Pittsburgh in 1998 with my dad. We were blown away by it. I got to meet Sara Karloff there as well so I was very happy!

Love this film, and so glad to see it have a high def transfer. My fingers are crossed that more Bogdanovich stuff will come to blu ray. It's surprising how many of his films have never gotten past DVD.

I have been waiting to add this to my library of film. I love this movie!

The BFI edition of "Targets" is scheduled for a September 11th release. By the looks of it, there are stacks of extras including 2 commentaries, a new interview with Sara Karloff and an hour long Guardian interview with Peter Bogdanovich. Looking forward to getting my hands on this!

I will get it as it is a film of 1968, the year I was born.

Interesting tidbit, Tim O'Kelly appeared in an episode of Batman(Adam West series) a couple of years before Targets. He was playing one of the henchmen of either The Joker or The Riddler, I forget which one. I'm sure it's on his IMDB. The Criminal Code was not Boris Karloff's first film, I don't even think it was his first sound film. Boris had appeared in several silent films usually playing a menace of some sorts. TARGETS is getting somewhat harder to find because of it's subject matter and it's relating or foreboding to current mass shootings. It's not the film's fault, Bogdanovich was being prescient. The film can be found on some streams if you really look hard, and before the Pandemic on a number of defunct Malware sites. But glad to see this Criterion blu-ray release with I hope tons of back-up or dvd extras material.

such a great review. i think karloff should have gotten an oscar for his performance. i will be upgrading my old dvd when the next sale takes place.
