Well, they're lethal WHEN they are struck sweetly. I like Kvitova a lot, but her strategy is very dependent on incredible precision, which is part of the reason she's unpredictable and not one of the most elite players. She has no plan B when she's having an off day.

Kvitova is far better player than Mary Pierce. She's got all the weapons and fairly consistent.

Unpredictable? She's been top 20 in the world for the last decade with most of that time in the top 10. And I think she has more singles titles than anyone on tour not named Venus Williams

I think you are writing that, referring to Slam performances, and you are not that wrong. I mean, a winning career, but with so many low in the very most important tournaments. She doesn't reach at least the quarters even in Wimbledon from 2014, her last tournament win there.

After 1st Giorgi match I fought its formality for her to win this. Moving on the court her vs Petra the difftence is huge.... But what I can say for the few years of observing - She is just too stooopid 😂 and its not gonna change, cause I thought it had been done, but for her my last chance has gone 4ever 🤪

Giorgio is a good player with a heavy forehand. But she doesn't have point construction skills. She just works on getting the ball back. She deserves to win more titles.

Yeah, I was just thinking something similar. Petra refined her game, added variety. Giorgi didn't she still plays almost like someone who's new to the tour, no game development so the top players know what to do to beat her.

Me too I was rooting for her to win. She's a very good player and deserves to win more titles. But I think what she's missing is the strategy in constructing points.

She is not even near that level of Tennis in WTA. She rather enjoys designing outfits for God knows who. That third set was a pure humiliation which can’t be explained. His father/coach should quit immediately.

Two of my favorite players on the tour! Shame either of them had to lose.

@@dr.strange6775 agreed. A more skilled player would be able to put either more spin or more angle. There was no real finesse in this game. I remember seeing matches between Graf, Navratilova and Every. There was power, but also finesse.

She played great against Bianca but Kvitova is a higher caliber of player with decades of experience. One thing missing in Camila game is tactical point construction.

She's quite consistent as far as top players go. She's top 10 career prize money. But is not Iga level of consistency. But still very good. I think she has 3 Grand Slams.

@jonfreeman9682 i agree. Consistency in the Top 10 sure. But she is too talented to just he stuck on 2 GS (the last GS she won was Wimbledon 2014). At her best, she is the best on tour. She can outhit anybody. Unfortunately consistency over 7 matches is a problem. Just look at what happened at Wimbledon. She was playing great tennis, winnng easily. Then come the 4tth round she couldn't get a ball in the court and lost 6-0, 6-3. On her favorite surface, that should not happen. Dont fet me wrong. I love Petra. She is my favorite player. But she should have won many more GS titles than the 2 she has

@@sds2954 You're right. I thought she won more Grand Slams but guess not. I think she's nearly as talented as Maria Sharapova who has 5 Grand Slams won on every surface and twice as French. They have similar style. I'm amazed she's still playing as most of her peers have retired. Another great player is Azarenka who is also top 10 career prize money who's trying to extend her career but is struggling. It's great to see these great players trying to extend their career a little more.

After the dominant performance against Andreescu, I thought so too. But I think this match shows that if you give Giorgi pace and rhythm, she looks damn unstoppable, but if you throw in some unpredictability, move her around, play some volleys, some net plays, force her into positions where she has to take extra risks, you can force her out of the quick punching baseline style that Giorgi likes to play. Not to mention, Kvitova has some big forehands and backhands as well, and her lefty inside out forehands are hard to deal with sometimes especially for right handers. Overall a close 3 setter but seems like Kvitova came in with a good game plan and able to contain Giorgi while playing her own game and attack at the right time.

I didn't expect her to win as Kvitova is just another class. Giorgio was always on her back foot. Kvitova has too much point construction savvy.

Camila is a good player but Petra has a better tactical game. Second set Petra slipped a bit. Looks like Camila ran outta steam last set.

I'm a huge fan, but I don't think it will happen. She just doesn't have the variety in her game. I've seen very few slices, drop shots, or lobs from her, and this is something that, say, Ash Barty did so well. Moving players from side to side is fine, but that leaves out the entire front to back element, which is genuinely 3D, instead of just a 2D level of play (which, admittedly, Cami is very good at).

Camila is a good player but she doesn't have the tactical game. She also needs to move to the net more to close the points. There are too many good players to face in a Grand Slam so she's not good enough to beat them all unless she gets an easy draw. Still there's a chance.

She was coached by her dad and boyfriend for a long time but I think she needs a real Grand Slam winning coach to get to the next level. That's what Lendl did to help Andy Murray break thru to win 3 Grand Slams.

@@jonfreeman9682 I dont see it happening at all. Her game is based around aggressive baseline hitting. What you're talking about is a change to her basic style, introducing new shots that she rarely hit (and she is 20+ years into this game style), and learning when to hit these new shots, meaning growth in terms of her tennis IQ (again, after 20+ years). It's one thing to try new things in practise, but its another thing to do it in a match. The problem is, if it's new, and isnt getting you the results you want, the temptation is to go back to what you know, so it becomes also a fight against yourself.

She is top 10 greatest of all time and in the top 10 most prize money too. If she wasn't in the era of great players like Serena Williams and Sharapova she would win more Grand Slams.

It was a feat to defeat bibi. I believe no one expected that outcome.

@@axelltullup2638 you 've obviously misunderstood. I meant "pity" by "shame". Kvitova was indeed better in this game but Camila was finding her true self in tennis during the last competitions. I was rooting for her and thought she would be more competitive in set 3 as she won set 2 and gained some confidence, but anyway, maybe next time.

She ran outta steam. I stayed up to watch that match and root for her but we all know Kvitova is the better player. But credit to Giorgi for fighting back to win the second set as it looked over. And yes she's super hot. Always a treat to watch her in her skimpy outfits.
